Thumbs Down Nervous about Pinecone changes!

They keep sending emails talking about changes with the surveys. Today I open my inbox and they sent a usual screener/household questions that you don't receive a check for, just sweepstake drawings. But the sweepstake drawings were different. And this was the longest screener I've ever taken from them. And then there was the bit of software that needed to be downloaded to see their new graphics that I did not like at all.

And I've been hearing rumors that they would switch completely over to Paypal  I like getting the checks. I don't buy much online, and I like having the check to show my hubby since that's the only financial contribution I make is surveys (and couponing )

I love Pinecone, been with them forever and tested several products. Anyone else not liking the changes that they're making?

I haven't heard about any of the changes you mentioned yet. As far as switching over completely to paypal...You can transfer paypal money over to your checking or savings account. It takes about 3-4 business days.

I prefer the paypal. It is free money to me and I use it to bid on auctions on ebay and HCW. I also saved up $70 worth of "free" money to give to the Secretary of State to renew my tags and license.

I have been with them for several years and I for one do not like the changes. I don't have a Pay Pal account and really do not wish to have one.
It seems they don't really want you to have a choice. I keep getting the emails quite frequently, to change over to Pay Pal. They are paying less then when I first signed up and the swwepstakes really don't appeal to me. Just my opinion.

Maybe the switching over to paypal is a cost cutting thing. Most companies are looking to cut costs these days, and this appears to be in line with that.

Southernbird, you said they are paying less. How much did they used to pay?

I know that they have been sending out multiple e-mails trying to get me to switch to paypal. I use paypal, but I like to get the checks because I save all my rebate money for Christmas or vacation. I know I could adapt if they went strictly to paypal. I would just have to go to paypal and cash out. I HATED it when they gave us 2 bad choices a while back; switch to getting $3 rather than $5 per survey, or not be with pinecone anymore. Hmmm, didn't like either of those choices, but $3 is still something for doing something very easy. Guess I will just go with the flow.

I too don't like the changes. The $5 surveys really added up. I am not really happy with the drawings either. The odds for the drawings are horrible.

I really like the paypal payment option because it gives me money to spend online without using a debit or credit card. I was pleasently surprised this Christmas to see that even walmart.com accepts Paypal. I don't like the sweepstakes-only dealies either. I don't even bother doing them because I like a definite payment for my time. I got the one requiring the download of the new software a few days ago. I didn't install it, figuring i'd wait and see what others have to say about it. I couldn't find much info about the plug-in online and do not want to be among the first to find out that it screws up your computer.

I decided to stand up and say 'No!'. I refused to accept $3 and for a while I still got $5 surveys. Then they threatened me again (errr...asked me to accept $3 ) and I refused. They cut me but I felt it was more important to stand up and say it wasn't right. If more people did that, they might have listened. Well, probably not but I felt good about my decision.

Ifg it helps I got a "debit/CC" from paypal so I can use my money on anything anywhere without having to transfer it to my account and wait. It's been a while since I got it so I can't remember all the stuff but I know that If I sign for purchases I actually get a small amount back. ( Basically enough to cover any charges I believe). The only thing that bites is if you want gas you have to tell them the exact amount and run it first.
