Default Re: Can I freeze it? Questions about freezing your stockpile here!

If I were to freeze salad dressing, I wouldn't put it in another container, I would open the bottle and use (or put in another container) a little and then reseal the bottle- you just need a little expansion room.

You can freeze bread in it's orignal package. To defrost it take out either half of it(depends on how fast you eat bread)out or the whole loaf out and sit it on the counter. It should take 2 to 3 hours to defrost. If you only want half the loaf take half of it out the bag and put one half into another bag and leave it on the counter and put the other half back into the freezer.

Yep so do we :) Especially italian bread. Once it thaws out it takes great.

We freeze TONS of bread! I get it for free and I get a lot at a time. I do notice that white breads get soggy and the wheat breads seem to hold up better after they thaw. I have found that the results varys between wheat breads even.
Sometimes we forget to take bread out and we need to make sandwiches so I just use it frozen and it thaws on about 10 minutes aprox. By the time we eat it you couldn't tell! I too freeze it in it's origional package. Usually mine doesn't last mich longer than a few months before it will start to get freezer burn. Good luck!

We freeze bread all the time too. If I forget to take some out of the freezer in time, I've found that I can quick-thaw 2 slices in the microwave for about 15 seconds.

I just started freezing bread, and so far so good!! I pull a loaf out at night if we are out, and its ready in the morning for breakfast toast and packing lunch :) No complaints from me or the kids on how it tastes either!

Bread freezes well, but not forever. I find that if I keep it more than a few months it has problems when I thaw it.

We freeze bread all the time as well....have about 4 loaves in our freezer right now. We go through a lot of bread with 3 kids in school and needing to pack lunches for them each day.

It thaws perfectly....don't even notice it was frozen. But, like I said, we go through it quickly so it doesn't stay frozen for more than 2-3 weeks.

When it's on sale, I stock up. A lot of times our stores will have B2G1 free sales so I tend to match that up with coupons and buy loads. I have a large freezer in our basement so I have plenty of room for it too.
