Default Re: Freezing hot dog & hamburger buns?

I've never had this problem before. Is it possible that the bread in question is near the freezer fan & its drying out portions? Is yours a frost free freezer, or one of those with the metal on the inside? Maybe some of the bread is touching the metal grating?

We have an older fridge/freezer. Honestly I don't even know where the fan is. The freezer has metal on the inside. But the bread is not touching the metal.

Default Re: Can I freeze it? Questions about freezing your stockpile here!

I will add my experience with yogurt (the small Yoplait containers). The "original" kind freezes and thaws well. However the "Thick & Creamy" kind will freeze, but gets really gross and separated when it completely thaws. Even stirring doesn't help. You CAN however freeze the Thick & Creamy kind, then eat it when it is PARTIALLY thawed, like a frozen yogurt type of treat.

I freeze butter for longer than that No problem. I like to put the sticks in freezer bags to help prevent them from taking on odors in the freezer. Margarine freezes well too.

wrap them in foil. I wrap the entire package, around the plastic bag. DH takes them out of the bag, wraps the whole bunch in foil, and shoves that into a zippered bag. You can also double bag...reuse two old bread bags, one inside the other. But always foil for store bought white bread.

The problem is drying out, so DON'T separate them...more surface to dry out.

When you freeze pasta do you put the whole box in the freezer??? I am assuming this is the kind of pasta you can freeze, spaghetti and elbow noodles.

Yep, box and all. If you take it out, you might save storage space, but it's easily broken.
