Stop & Shop Rant Similac Check & Q together??

So I usually shop at ShopRite, but sometimes I go to Stop N Shop if I don't feel like dealing with lines and the crowds. Anyway any store I have even been to since I have had children...years now I have ALWAYS combined a man. coupon with a Similac check...ALWAYS. WalMart, Target, Babies R Us, Hannaford, Stop N Shop, Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens, etc...even Stop N Shop!!

Well yesterday I did just that like always and the cashier said I could not combine them...I smirked and said since when? She said always, and called over the store manager (he just happened to be standing right there). He wasn't nice at all and basically said to me "why would you think you could do this when the coupon clearly states one per transaction?" Well I was not using two coupons..the other gets processed as a check or cash anywhere (including YOUR store) not like a coupon. I told him if there were not meant to be combined, then Similac would not have put out checks and coupons...it would be one or another.

So long story short, I left empty handed and really don't ever want to return there. Is there anyway to prove I am right...of course only if I am right???

I had always been able to use both together, but I have nothing in written proof to show that I can, KWIM? I would contact Similac and ask them to put their policy in writing regarding the use of qs and checks together.
