Default How long can you keep Brownie mixes past the "best by" dates?

I have several boxes of duncan hines and ghirardelli brownie mixes that have best buy dates back to May forward, are they still safe to fix? I know, I know, I should have used them by now but I had a bunch!

How long does everyone keep theirs and does the texture change?

I would add an extra teaspoon of some leavening agent (baking soda or baking powder) That's usually what expired in the mix.

Our entire storage system is in a very dry and cool basementat the far end of the ranch house, opposite end from the furnace room (and we keep the heat ducts closed to that room as well). Do you suppose this logically extends the life of our food storage? We have everything on commercial-grade storage (Rite-Aid metal shelving and World Market wood shelving). We do First In, First Out as well and "shop" directly from our "store" when we cook. We also periodically go through and weed out any popped tops, bulged cans, and otherwise damaged products. We haven't noticed any problems.

I was organizing my stock pile and found a few boxes of Swiss Miss Milk chocolate hot cocoa mix that have expired a few months ago. 2 of them june 28 and 2 sept 26 .I'm stumped does anyone know if these are still safe to use or toss them?I've used several items after expiration as long as the packages are in tact no rusting and no sign of them going bad but I'm not sure about these my kiddos are the only ones who drink these and I don't want to make them sick.TIA

I don't think there would be a problem as long as none of the envelopes are torn. It's just cocoa, sugar and dry milk powder.

I would use those first, but I don't think there would be any issues. I've used older cocoa mix before.
