I wasn't quite sure what forum was right for this, but I'm curious how people remove the eggs from the carton, and if you have a reason behind it. (poll attached)

I start on one end, and work toward the center. I have no idea why, lol.

I take them from each side, keeping it balanced with eggs in the center. Why? I guess so that if it is sitting unevenly on something else in the fridge that there won't be a "heavy" side that could make it fall.

I always start from the middle and work out keeping it balanced on the sides. I had noticed when my kids would get the egg carton out and it wasn't balanced, they tended to drop it more frequently. Since I have started doing that, I have had less egg to clean off of the floor.

Ok, I'm now realizing that I handle the eggs much more than necessary.

I take them out from one end, but then I end up rearranging them so that the middle gets empty first, and then I make sure that they are pretty well balanced. If one end has 3 eggs, then the other end has to have 3 eggs too. Any odd number stays near the middle so one end isn't heavier than the other.

Now if you'd asked how do you take the carton out of the refrigerator, I'd have to say that I quickly grab the carton out of the hands of a 3 year old who thinks that he's helping mommy and doesn't realize how cranky mommy gets when the box falls out of his hands and makes a huge mess, despite having witnessed it first hand more than once.
