Default Re: How do you remove your eggs from the carton?

Does anyone put them all in one end and then take a knife or scissors and cut the excess of the carton off where there are no eggs? (for more room in the fridge) Perfectionistic-ocd, I know. No rhyme or reason to how I take them out though.:shrug7:

I take from either end so that the carton is even weighted.
My fridge came with a pop bottle holder (2liter) that would lay the pop on it's side and I use that to hold the eggcarton. If people take the eggs from one side, and put the heavy side in first, I've taken the carton and had it crush as I held tighter because I realized the heavy end was slipping.

Funny the things we do!

When I saw this, I wondered if people were out there using tongs to take their eggs out!! But I am glad I am not the only person out there that rearranges eggs to make sure they are balanced in the carton.

OMG I had no idea there were so many ways to get eggs out of the carton. I never really thought about it before. This thread is a riot.

How entertaining! I grab them randomly, but then re-arrange so they're neatly and evenly balanced in the center. I secretly worried I was overly anal for doing it this way, so I'm relieved to see my way is the second most common one! :lol6:

I take them out from the center to the ends keeping them balanced. I learn one time when I picked up the carton and dropped it back down. So, it always has to stay balanced. And if hubby cooks eggs, I go and rebalance the egg carton.

We have chickens and right now probably have no less than 30-40 eggs in our fridge, plus some to gather. They are just in plastic baskets, According to age as best as we can determine. We just take them out of the pile while trying not to disturb the others so they won't tumble and break. Occasionally people give us cartons and we use them we just randomly take them out.

I now think of this thread every time I reach for the eggs. so funny.

How do I remove my eggs? One at a time

Seriously though, I take them out evenly from the ends working inward so it seems as though the carton is balanced. The only time it really NEEDS to be balanced is when I am carrying it, man I am clumsy lol!

Balanced! Center to edge or edge to center: doesn't matter, just so it's balanced. I've almost dropped my eggs too many times, so I always do it like this.
