I had RAVE reviews from the whole family last night. I used lasagne noodles instead of egg noodles. Egg noodles never seem to be n sale when there is a Q for them.....

I hope ya'll like it as well as we did.

I'm in! Gonna try for $200 again. I really need to find time to take inventory of my HBA stockpile so I know what I need.

Flying back home to DC from San Diego in about 40 min. Man, I will miss this beautiful Cali weather!

In my opinion, it is. It's like really lean beef. I use ground venison instead of hamburger for everything. I use it when I take my Girl Scout troop camping and make chili and walking tacos with it and none of them can tell the difference unless I tell them. Of course, once I tell them, some of them get squimish and won't eat the food so I've learned not to say anything!

The venison tenderloins are really good if you get it from a young deer; if it's an old buck, not so much. The other cuts are good if you slow cook them like in a stew.

yes...some what, but very lean....I usually use ours for spicy stuff like spaghetti, chili, sloppy joes, tacos etc. When the super picky eaters are around I mix it 1/2 & 1/2 w/ ground beef & they never seem to notice. I've taken sloppy joes to work for several baby showers & retirement parties & nobody ever seems to be able to tell. I think a lot of it is a mental thing.

so does that mean your dh is getting out of cooking tonight?

My parents are coming for dinner tonight...making lasagna & garlic bread, and mom is bringing my fave childhood dessert (banana pudding)

found out results from the doggie's fecal tests.... that they are both positive for different types of worms. so now I have to treat everybody. Not happy about this, as they were suppose to have been dewormed.
    I miss my Catahoula!!!
