Default What would you suggest stockpiling?

I have posted several pics on here, but its NOTHING like everyone else's! My question?
What would you recomend a "newbie" wanting to stockpile the first item? I know what we need/use, two adults and two children in the household. Im on a VERY strict budget, hubby is on SSI only getting $628 a month, but we do get state benefits. We cant double coupons here Shop at Walmart, Dollar General, and Save-a-lot. Would you recomend starting at the Dollar Tree? They have alot of stuff there.

Our bills take most of the $$. I just want to get ahead finally. If anyone can suggest some good tips I will be very greatful!

Do you have any drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, or Rite Aid? Those are usually the easiest way to start a stockpile.

They each have their own forum. If you go there (on Hot Coupon World) you will see write ups of the the coupon matchups. Once you get started, you just roll what you get back at that store into your next shopping trip. Takes a month or two to get the hang of it but once you do, you're golden. In my opinion, if you have a CVS start there it's a little less complicated but all three stores are great.

First off I would figure out your food budget, and then figure $10-$15 a week from that JUST for stockpiling....only use it for frees/cheaps and if you don't use it all one week roll it to the next week. Start small and grow it slowly from there.

Anything that you can get free or super cheap is a great place to start with stockpiling. Last week I got some softsoap for .08 and muffin mixes for .30 so I got those. Next week I might pick up something different depending on what is on sale.

I always look for meat bargains too that I can put in the freezer for later. For example, I bought a bunch of whole chickens for around $2.25 last summer and I pulled one out yesterday and roasted it. We had a meal (for 2) at lunch then I made stock from the carcass and did chicken and noodles for dinner. (I had enough of that left to take to work today!) Tonight I will use some of what is left for chicken burritos or nachos. I think there is still enough left for a meal tomorrow too. We got about 10-12 servings out of that cheap chicken! Same with markdown hamburger and other meats - even if I don't need it for this week - I will freeze it for later.

Here's a thread for a savings spread sheet, it's a Microsoft Excel spread sheet and it's super easy to use.
