Oh To1 I hope Zane gets soo much better.

Speaking of DH's and inquiries-DH went to the ER tonight with my aunt-yeah I can't sleep without him here. The fence outside between the drive way and the back lot fell on him Thursday evening. Now his leg is so swallowed. I'm hoping a shot will help him since I need all the bodies for tommorrow's and Tuesday's living room/computer room haulout. Then the bedrooms start, washer & dryer, freezer and then the little stuff. Really hoping/praying we can get done this week and be ready to sleep in the new house on Sat or Sunday night.
I had sanity once upon a time I promise . It was just so long agoooo that I can't remember it.

    Welcome newbies!
As for keeping track of your spending, a spread sheet is totally up to you. If you can hack it, it's a good way to see where your spending is going and how much you are saving..... again, not a requirement for this challenge.
For what to include, that's up to you. I however include all household items such as lightbulbs, cleaners, filters, etc. Some even include gas as their local stores have a gas program.

Savings - Glad to see you making your way back to us. for the kitchen being done! You still owe us some pictures.

EP - I don't blame you for taking a break. Use your energy on getting the new stockpile storage organized.

FFA - you can do it.

to1 - glad DH is getting better. Glad to hear Zane is trying to get back to normal. My heart breaks for him. Stay strong and you know we are hear for ya.

I wonder how things are going with Rose. Ya'll know she said her DH would be peeking in to see what she is saying...... I guess she decided to keep things on the down low.

I am not going to include the medically needed cat food in our budget goal since its a monthly medical mandate. I will however include our other 2 expensive fur babies food (only the best for our fuzzies so says the wife)

oh wait a minute, should I include cable in that? that is a perk we splurge on. if so I need to up our budget to $250 LOL we are not cutting that one out.

I would say our goal for 3 adults, 1 child, 3 fur babies(one is diabetic so that will challenge our goal amount do cat medical foods count as medical expenses?) $200

so how are we held accountable or how do we report exactly? should we keep a spread sheet sort of thing for the month? what do folks find that works easiest and best?
you hold your self accountable....we are here for support.
I keep all my receipts for the month in an envie on my desk, just write the name of the month on the outside and write the amount of each receipt in a tally on the outside. I keep them even after the month is up...you never know when you can use one for a rebate later on.
I find that it's easiest to add your receipts up and put the amount in the wiki. Say I spent $45 at store A today & $12 at store B......I would put a total of $57 in the wiki under my name like this .......$57/200 ($200 is my monthly goal). I would highlight the $57 in red cuz it's money out of pocket. If you received a rebate check for $10 you would subtract it from the $57...so it would look like this $47/200. hope that makes sense

Makes total sense. We do not rebate anymore so there will be no lucky deductions that way coming! LOL . But you never know due to other programs we participate in if we will get a bonus check or not for surveys etc. We have not really kept ourselves to a good budget for a while now and need to get our fast food spending habit in check for our pocket book and our belts!

somehow when you have to keep fessing up that you've spent $ on fast food again.... it makes you think about it before you spend it. Or you can just do like we did....move to the country where there is no fast food.
