What Item did you stock up on when on sale and you absolutely HATE it?

Not sure where to post this but I wanted to find out...

Newmans Own Pasta Sauce was recently on sale BOGO and I had coupons which made it pretty close to free.. I stocked up because I have heard amazing reviews about the sauce.. I used it today and it's horrible.. Very watery and not much flavor and I'm just soooo disappointed. I will eat but I don't want to touch it.

So my questions is what item did you buy because it was a deal but now won't touch it even if it's free/cheap?

I rarely buy a lot of anything we haven't had before and know we like.

I usually "sample" a freebie first, if we like it I stock up

As to the Newman's own - you can always thicken it up with tomato paste and add spices you like to bring it up to desirable level I've done that with sauces I like less than others.

the clairol foam dye. the dye made my hair so darker than what was on the box. then I googled it and everyone was saying how it ruined their hair. I have about 5 boxes that I am just going to throw away.

Those Ritz half cracker/half pretzel things. YUCK. DH & I both hate them. But my 20 yr old brother just moved in today, so they should be gone quickly. lol.

Got about 8 of the Philadelphia Cooking Creams for free and/or .50-1.00 a piece. I think the flavor of them is ok (nothing extraordinary), but the texture is just weird! I'm going to try mixing it with a little milk before I use it next time, but the ones I have may just be about ready to expire and I won't be buying it again.

Oh I love the italian one! Try the recipe with the ziti that is on the lid! It's fantastic.. HTH

The cooking cremes were what I thought of as well. I'm glad I didn't get a ton of them. I still have some in my freezer, but I can't imagine what I'll use them for. They just taste "off" to me. I don't like them at all, and they aren't much more convenient than just whipping up a béchamel sauce, anyway.

For me it's usually some allergen free item that I had to mail order and because I had to pay so much postage I just ordered a case. The most recent flop was some banana and pecan bars. Daughter didn't like the smell so wouldn't touch them. And I hate bananas so I wouldn't touch them.

I tried the Cooking Cream. Wasn't impressed.

Funny how many of us mention the cooking creme. Wonder how long it will be on the shelves? I got a bunch because they were free/mm for quite a while with various promos. Now mine are in the freezer as well and the one time I thawed one the texture made it unusable...
