How do you store Velveeta?

Okay, I'm curious. Do you leave the whole block in the box until it's gone, then use the box as a coffin for the wrapper? Do you store it in a ziplock? How about the little tupperware things with the slide out table? Wrapper on or off? Believe it or not, this is what I was thinking about when I fell asleep last night!

I usually wrap saran wrap around the open end and just stick it in the fridge after we've opened it. Box is thrown out.

Good question! I do the box as a coffin method - a block of velveeta is usually only bought here for a one time use thing, or we will use half and then use up the other half the same week, so as long as it is kept from the air, it is pretty much good to go.

Hope you sleep better tonight once you figure out your velveeta dilemma lol!

Being Single,I cut it in half,freeze one half and store the other half in a ziplock,and put in the frige

LOL OP!!

I hack off a piece, flap over the foil wrapper, shove the cut end of the velveeta to the end of the coffin til it's gone. No saran wrap or tupperware involved!! Don't need no extra steps between me & my cheese!!

I have the free containers that came with it one time so I use that to keep it. I just rewrap it in the foil it comes in and put into the container. You know the one that looks like a large butter cover, lol I have that one.

Awesome! I usually stick a baggie over the cut end, and jam it back in the cheese coffin until it's more than halfway used. Then my kids can fight over the box! kwhile, that is some funny stuff! I think I'll sleep better tonight! I don't know why that was in my head!

I made a thread earlier this year wondering if you even have to store it in the fridge. When I buy it it's not refrigerated. I don't currently have a box so I don't know if it says to refrigerate after opening. The only reason I wanted to know was because I saw some good coupons on it about then and wondered if it was worth stocking up on and I don't have room in my fridge for a lot.

Now don't let this dilemma (fridge or pantry) keep you up tonight! LOL

We have one of those too and use it. I keep the original foil for the portion that hasn't been used and over the open end with more of my foil.
