Holy Moly! We have an Aldi's here, so I pay just 2.69. Sorry for 4.49

Sadly, packages are shrinking all around us! I bought a pack of Hebrew National bun-length hot dogs and picked up a pack of buns to go with. Well lo and behold the buns were two inches shorter than the hot dogs! They shrank the buns! Scott Tissue is 1/4" narrower than it used to be and the perforations can't be seen with the naked eye. That means you pull way more off the spindle! Screwed again! A "pound" of pasta is now 14.5 oz and teabags hold less tea. UNBELIEVEABLE!!!

Here in the Northeast, everything is rising. I have to say that Coffee has increased the most. I only use Maxwell House, I will not compromise on that. I just stock up when I can. We used to get a reasonable price at Walmart between $5-$6 for 34.5oz now. Past few months it has been increasing to as much as $14.49 last check at Stop & Shop and 9.95 at Walmart. Got a good deal a week or so ago at Wags, 34.5 oz on sale $6.99 I had a coupon 1.00/1 so I bought 4 (limit not stated anywhere) was two per the checkout person. I told her the manager had gone to get it for me in the back and said I was ok with four. Checker wasn't too happy but I got them. Toward the end of the week, I went back for more.
They were completely OOS. Manager gave me a rain check for more, first she wrote 2 then I asked for 2 more pls. She wrote the raincheck for 4. I now have 16 34.5oz containers in a stockpile. I am not a stockpiler, but some things like coffee have been written about for years as something that will forever increase and never come down in price. I had bought 12 Maxwell house coupons on e-bay with a long expiration date of 12/11. I have 6 left to use.

Just go check the price of Maxwell House coupons on ebay now. I would trade 2 coupons of any other coffee or more for any Maxwell House with good expiration date. Make mine Caffeine please. :)

Just a suggestion on the coffee storage. If you have room in your freezer, put them in there - they stay very fresh for as long as it takes for you to use them

Of course I'm assuming (I know, shouldn't do that!) that you don't do this already!

As to coffee prices, back in April this was announced:

Major Coffee Companies Raising Prices On Coffee Products
Starbucks, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Peet’s, J.M. Smucker Company (Dunkin’ Donuts, Folgers and Millstone), Kraft (Yuban and Maxwell House coffees), Caribou Coffee, Sara Lee Corp., McDonald’s and Nestle have all announced price increases.
Wholesale coffee prices a have nearly doubled in the last twelve months and approaching the highs of 1977, and consumers are now paying more for their packaged coffees as well as forEspresso-based Specialty Coffee Drinksincluding Cappuccinos, Lattesand other fine coffee beverages.

So it would appear that the coffee prices will continue to rise, and just like every other commodity market item, the speculators who buy futures in these items are contributing to the increase to the consumer They're the ones that drive up gas prices, grain prices, sugar, beef, pork products etc.
