I'm trying to decide if I'm going to participate in July or not. I feel like I'm most of the time. I do need to try and use some of the stockpile and not spend a bunch of money, but, I also have other stuff I need to work on stocking up before my surgery in August. I don't seem to be able to keep on top of tracking it here, for whatever reason. I get easily overwhelmed and I'm horribly disorganized, I guess, so I just give up trying. I'll decide in the next couple of days...

I know that feeling. As far as tracking - I just dump my receipts next to the computer until I get time to add them up and enter them. After they are totaled, then I paperclip them and set them aside until the end of the month, at which time the ones I don't need get tossed away. Not really very organized, but it works for me.

This month and next, I have to use up stockpile before going on my trip. (I hate to leave a lot in my house, especially with the teenage petsitters coming in everyday. Don't mind them having an afternoon snack - but they don't need to have a party and eat up my entire stockpile while I am gone!) September (?) who knows what I will come up with on vacation - my cheapskate ways will go with me - but CA tends to be expensive in general so I know I will need a bigger budget. I always pack light and throw as much in my suitcase as I can in the way of boxed and canned goods; but I will have to buy some meat, produce, and dairy there. I have a cooler that fits under the airplane seat and I usually put lunchmeat and cheese slices in it for at least the first few days. I may stuff a frozen pork roast and some other frozen meat in there too for the first couple of dinners. The frozen stuff will keep the lunchmeat cold until I get to the condo too - so I won't have to worrry about ice on the way. Gasoline runs .50-.75 higher per gallon there too and we will be driving a lot to sight see, so that will be the big chunk of my budget.

October/November, I will be on stockup mode for the winter so I will probably just hang out here for the chitchat.

Not sure how much though. I'm going to be over on Tuesday on my June budget. I was so close to making it. Didn't plan on strawberry picking until after I set my budget.

I'd like to give myself some wiggle room this month. I think $400 is too much but $300 not enough.
Fruit killed me in June (well that and drinks)...I know I spent close to $80 (or more) in June on fruit alone.

    I still have cat food.

So you go to CA for vaca and take your own food? On a plane? I'm not making fun and we do the same thing but it's usually to FL and that's within driving distance...I learned something new today.

I won't tell until we have our passports apps in on Fri.
    But here's a clue.....

We hope to take some food (mostly snacks) on our vacation. What can you take on flights (other than obvious chips & bagged stuff)? I've passed with a banana and since DS is still young, they let me have his sippy with water

Lowes Foods shoppers they also have Coke for 4/$10 this coming week! Saves me some gas not driving across town to Target. I have $1/3 q's so $2.17 a 12 pack is killer for me!!! Not decided on my budget just yet.
I had sanity once upon a time I promise . It was just so long agoooo that I can't remember it.

Dog...I just asked DH if he thought we'd ever be able to take like a whole week or two off...I got a defensive shrug, "I don't know-why?"...I just let it drop...
