I know nobody has posted anything in almost a yr . But what me and my momma did all the time was buy the 5 dollar coupons on ebay 20 of them from kohls and go right for clearance. We got like 5 outfits each a month sometimes not spending anything .
RIP momma! You are my coupon queen 1/16/1963-7/12/2010 you would be so proud of me and my coupon using :) I love You

I have totes stacked in my garage also. I buy larger sizes and stick them in a tote- has been a life saver.
As for buying in advance I try to stick to simple items.
I cannot predict a sandal size- but good old fashioned tennis shoes can be worn year round. "School" shoes are pretty safe also.
Jeans and t-shirts can pretty much be worn year round also.
Currently my oldest are in a size 10, when they hit a spurt.. I simply go grab my "girls size 12" tote and see what I have. Then I fill in the gaps with clearance items, thrift store.. etc.
I also have found that my daughter can put a turtle neck under alot of "summer" items, or a sweater over it in winter :)

Goodwill is probably my most favorite place to buy clothes from. Last week I got 6 brand new dress shirts and two pairs of brand new khakis for $21. I'm working on stockpiling professional clothing for when I finally finish school and get my first job.

Bookgirl, that is very sensible of you. You are WAY ahead of your peers already. Most people don't think about stuff like that until after graduation and then they're hit with a huge business clothing expense.

Shopping at Target today I was able to get 2 pair of flannel sleep pants for 2.48 each.
2 sets of pj's with long sleeve tee shirt and flannel pants for 3.74 each
2 sets of licenced pj's short sleeve t-shirt and flannel pants 4.98 each
I'll be able to put them away for Christmas next year . Total would have been 89.92 I only spent 22.40.
Thease were all men's size L and they were getting picked over buts tons of Smalls and Mediums . Keeping my eye on some shirts but they were only and 50%.
