    Default Question about stockpiling

Just a general question...when you are shopping for your stockpile do you generally only buy something if you save a certain percent or higher (only buy if they save mroe than XX%) or do you take something else into consideration?

    Just wondering...

    Thanks :)

I stock up based on how cheap i can get an item. an example is paper towels. I pay $0.50 or less per roll. If there is a sale with a coupon that makes the paper towels $0.50 or less per roll then i will stock up. Basically, after you coupon for a while you will find what a good price/deal for your area is and you will learn when to stock up on any certain item. I also kind of follow along on seasonal items. Coming up will be a great time to stock up on condiments since grilling/camping season is coming. When i very first started in Feb 2009, i set a goal of getting everything 50% off or better. Then i went from there and increased my savings as i increased my stockpile.

It depends on your budget and what you can afford to spend. Some weeks I have a little more "play money" than others.

IMO it all depends on where you are in your stockpiling efforst. For me, I've been couponing since 2009, so I have an extensive (for me it's extensive) health and beaufy stockpile. So, unless a H & B items is FREE or well over 50% savings I probably won't buy it. Now, if I'm running low on an item I would like to save at least 50% before I would buy it, but there are time you just have to pay full price but I try not too. In addition, it may all depend on what type of items you want to buy. I'm pretty picky on what we buy. Sure I buy snacks and stuff for dh and ds but I won't buy much with MSG, so now make my own Ranch Dressing since Hidden Valley's has MSG plus you really never see it on sale and with a high dollar Q and I'm in the land of no doubles. I will though buy the oil version of dressings when there's a good deal and use them for marinades and such.

    Happy Couponing!
