Dollar How Much do you Budget for your stockpile?

I was just going over my list of items that I have stockpiled since January and realized that I did keep it under 100.00 after coupons but I still am not done. I would love to one day take the stock pile challenge and just use what we have, but I want to add a few more items to my pantry. So how much $ do you budget for your stock pile?

For the last two months, my budget has been REALLY high since I hadn't done any decent shops since like October of 2010 ( I started back January 1st) and I was only shopping for fruit/veg, containers of meat and milk.

Right now we're budgeting $295 for this month. I'm actually sort of glad I could budget that high this month since there are SO many great deals on things we desperately need a bigger stockpile of ( Gain, for example. ) I still have $99 left for the month. :) I expect by the time late spring rolls around, I'll be back down to our usual, which is right around $80-$100 for the month.

My budget for 2011 is $10 a day for everything for a family of 4. We came about $50 under in January, and we are right at $140 for this month. I have a pretty good sized stockpile, but we have been buying more produce this year. The stockpile has definitely allowed us to spend more elsewhere. I only have 1 store that doubles and another store that has the best prices anywhere, so it's hard to get stuff for free, but we get by.

50% of my grocery budget it allotted for stockpiling. The other 50% of the budget is for fresh produce, milk, eggs, bread and the other things I need to make meals or we just need them. There is some flexibility in those numbers though. Our total grocery budget for family of 6 plus 3 cats, 3 dogs and guinea pig is $400 a month. We meal plan heavily based on what we have in the stockpile. I spend right around $40-$50 a week on produce alone. Then there are weeks that I just skip coupon shopping/stockpile shopping. So the numbers can vary a little each week. For example a few weeks ago I dropped $50 stocking up on chicken and didn't do much else in the way of shopping that week outside of produce, milk and eggs. But then I skipped coupon shopping the next week so it all evened out.

The couponing allows me to better afford spending more on produce and other things.

I take it one week at a time. I look at the deals and see what we need to round out meals and go from there. Sometimes it's zero if there's not any good deals to be had and sometimes it's up to 75 depending on how good a sale and how much we need that item.

Thanks for your replies the stockpile can be overwhelming, when you start organizing and when other people, like your husband see it, they completely go to the costs of it. Only with coupons there was half the cost, which is a huge deal for us, with 6 plus 2 son in laws, to feed. I have raised 3 children as a single mother, and only wish I had started this 20 years ago, seriously. Better late than never!

My weekly budget for groceries, hba, cleaning supplies...is $100. I really try to stick to it. So that includes all of our dairy & produce & other perishables, plus any stockpiling I do. I do have an extra $20 a week to play with for couponing, but that usually gets spent on pizza, lol.

I don't really budget. I probably spend about 1/2 the amount of money on food as I used too...but get three times as much.

For HBA I do spurts. Some months I get nearly nothing...some months I stockpile. Just depends on what it is.

i think hot mama said it best some weeks i will spend $250 at the store other weeks $0 it also depends what i need and how often its on sale hubby goes right to the cost to (we have a gas store) but i just ignore him like this week i will spend 150 on dog treats and no dog but i will get 336 back in gas but with out spending the 150 i would have had to buy the 336 kwim? it gets less the more you do it and good luck
