    Default Betty Crocker Fruit Gushers

Has anyone else noticed these don't do too well? I opened up a few packages that I bought approximately 3-4 months ago, they are all well in-date, with June and August expiration dates...but the gushers had no gush - they were hard as a rock and the boxes hadn't even been opened. I ate them anways but they certainly didn't taste and guey and juicey. Anyone else notice this?

You don't think they are harmful to eat do you? Just not taste as well, right?

The last boxes of gushers I bought were already gushed when we opened the box. They were a sticky mess. But the boys like them (DH included) but those were fresh from the store when they were like that.

These were just dried up and hard as a rock - the gush had solidified. And they were well in-date. Didn't taste good. I won't be stockpiling this item anymore - it doesn't keep well.

the date on the box is a best if used by date. meaning they are best if used by such & such date. they are NOT marked w/ expiration dates. these are meant to be kept in a temp control environment...if they are subjected to high temps they will "dry" out, or it can cause them to melt & leak. usually issues like those are caused during distribution. ( ie: sitting in hot grocery store warehouse) I recommend storing in a cool dark place. (not an item I would stock a whole bunch of)

These were stored inside the home - temperarture control environment - in the kitchen pantry so I don't know what happened to them.

If you've stored them as suggested on the box and they are still within the "best used by" date but are unhappy with them, by all means, write the company! Don't be shy. Tell them how many boxes you got along with the codes on the bottom.

I do this often when I don't like something about a product and almost always get either a refund or voucher for free product.

yes....I do this too. ( just got a Q for free jimmy dean sausage today for contacting them about a resealable pouch that wouldn't stay sealed)

Sometimes it is where the product sits between when it is made and when you buy it...but the manufacturer will try to make it right if you contact them.
