I'm lowering to $125 for January...I am major stocking up in the rest of December and also will have several gift cards for use in January. I think I can do it...

Bring on 2011...This year is going to be my year of saving money! I got my coupon burnout/time off out of the way in 2010, I have a better concept of how much I really need of items in our stockpile and I am determined tho whittle down my monthly budget.

I am for real gardening this summer...tomatoes and pumpkins for sure so I will be able to can my own tomato juice and pumpkin puree rather than paying outrageous amounts at the store for it. I will again can my own jam. And I'll take advantage of the free rhubarb growing on my dad's farm.

I haven't decided on any real "goals" for this year as far as money goes, other than to get hubs' Harley finally paid off. That is going to take some serious effort, but again, I am determined!

We spend a lot on fresh produce, so my goal is $500 for this month...
It's first time for me, so I have to came up with good way to track those expenses...
Is separete cc is a good idea? (full balance paid of course)
    Fresh meat...hmmmmm.

Okay did anyone else find this humorous?
This is all about cleaning out your stockpile.

Does this mean we can't chat anymore??

Count me again for January for $175 for 3 peeps...hoping to stay waaaaay under but we'll see...this next year I want to concentrate more on my hobbies and less on this computer...talk about funny...but seriously, I do want to can more, keep puttin' up fresh veggies (freeze) and only shop when necessary (unless they're giving it away-then there will be problems)...really, really want to spend more time doing what I love, not padding my addiction (that would be the couponing/shopping addiction)

For pumpkin pies I grow butternut squash....it's what pumpkin in the can is made out of........I fully intend to experiment with other types of pumkins- especially Galleaux d'Eyesines. Galleaux's are HORRIBLE keepers, at least mine were this year- they are already gone (chicken food) cuz they started rotting before I could cook any.
Jarrahdale is an AMAZING storage pumpkin. Had one in the kitchen all last winter with NO rotting. Stored as well as the hubbards and is a really pretty steel blue. I will be growing LOTS more of these next year. They are also yummy....

    I'm in for $80

I need to set some goals.... one of which is to use drugstore money to pay for more food (milk or even snacks). I already use this for all of my HBA so maybe I can begin to incorporate food as well.

    Any other ideas/goals from y'all?

And my 3 little kiddos can munch fruits all day long, and now when farmers market closed for winter - it's realy hit the budget...
Oh well, there are other areas to save...
