Anyhoo, weird about the sudden weird taste too.
Just wanted to say, that food poisoning doesn't always take that long. After eating at a chinese buffet, within 1 hour, I was rushed in to the emergency room, and after being worked on for 5 hours, and $12k later, was able to be stabilized and released.

    Sorry about your experience.

Lots of people think it's food poisoning or something they eat - when they start to feel sick after eating something - but usually it's just a virus that they have that's hit them - and it happens to be close in time to them eating something so they make that association. Just a thought.
Agreed. I really don't think Chex Mix has anything that could cause food poisoning. Even rancid nuts won't hurt you, they just taste really bad.

And FWIW, yogurt takes a REALLY long time to go bad as long as it's not opened. I've eaten 6 month old yogurt before with no ill effects.

There is a horrid stomach virus going around. It lasts 12-24 hours, and the onset is rapid. It's much more likely that you picked that up somewhere.

If im iffy about the expiration i usually wont eat and it and toss it. Im paranoid about expiration dates! You can pick up viruses however from anywhere. At the store. kids bring em home from school etc. Even if the lil ones dont get sick they may have just carried the virus .

We eat lots of stuff after it's expiration date... within reason, and pretty much only when unopened. Yogurt does last a VERY long time.
Oops... sorry - you exceeded the limit of my attention span!
