I usually give meat about a year in the freezer.

I buy bacon all the time on the last date of sale (or close to it) at Safeway. The last time I bought it, I bought (20) pkgs. of Hormel Black Label Center Cut for $.99 a pkg. I just went out to my freezer to check and the date on it is 8/13/09. When we thaw it, it looks and tastes like I just brought it home from the store. Bacon in the package is USUALLY well-sealed and will last indefinitely in the freezer.

LMAO - I still have some of that Farmland bacon - and yes I still pull it out and use it.

I'd use it and wouldn't worry. I consider putting it in the freezer as stopping the "aging" process.
