I just want to mention one of the challenges I face in this area..maybe others do too.
I have a problem getting enough coupons ahead of time for a product that will be going on sale and a great buy with a coupon; or even knowing what coupons I need to get my hands on ahead of time. Sometimes I'll go search on ebay for certain coupons, but then I wonder if better coupons will come out in the Sunday paper and then I'll have wasted my money...
With papers costing $2 a pop, it can get expensive buying tons of them...so I don't. I don't know of anyone to get inserts from, or that would be an option. I contacted the paper about just buying inserts from them but they said they didn't do that.
Anyway, I'm not really complaining, because I feel like I still do a great job at getting some deals for my family; I just see this as one of the possible obstacles to me when it comes to stockpiling!
But there are also so many great IP's out there that it really helps!

So does anyone have any thoughts...suggestions...in the same boat?:shrug7:

If you shop CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid - usually the ads are posted 2-3 weeks ahead on those forums. It helps to know what coupons will be hot and what to order if needed. As for the grocery stores :shrug7:. They usually only come 1-2 DAYS before so those are harder.

I'm still working on getting organized with this as well. But on here they do have insert previews as well as having many of the ads up early. I try to trade on here as apposed to ebay because you can more easily communicate quickly and get a fast trade done with someone more local to get your Q's in time for the sale.

Also utilize stores rainchecks when they run out of things at the end of the sale to allow a little more time for Q's if they aren't in yet.

Count me in again this month! I started my stockpile last month and slowly building. My reason behind stockpiling - I'm a single mom and trying to make the most out of what I have.

Yeah, the grocery stores are a bummer! With CVS and RiteAid (I still feel scared shopping WAGS, I always somehow end up spending more than I planned!) there are limits anyway on the really great SCR or ECB deals, and I'll usually have enough. It's the food items that I have a harder time stockpiling. Thanks for the input!

Arrrgh! :hectic1: Why do I always forget rainchecks? I really need to start utilizing that! Thanks for the reminder!!!

I'm in again for the Stockpiling Olympics and also will be joining the March Stockpile Challenge as well, since I do have a crammed full freezer (well...the one that works ), but still have some gaps I would like to fill in my stockpile.

I am stockpiling not only to save money, but to donate as much as possible to the Food Bank and Haiti Relief effort through our church. DH is an auto parts manager and part of his salary is commission...with the declining economy his money take home pay has gone down $300-$500, we have to make it up everywhere that we can. :hectic1:

Me too! My daughter is having dandruff issues, and my pediatrician was like "just pick up a bottle of Selsan Blue" and even though I have a coupon for $1 off, it's still $6 a bottle so I'm waiting for a sale. I told DH that her dandruff doesn't cost me anything than time to pick it out, so until there is a good sale, she's keeping it!

Have you thought of using a clipping service? I don't get inserts anymore, either, so if I can't trade with a trader here, I use a clipping service. There is a thread here of clipping services that help support HCW.
