Stockpiling vs Hoarding...hmmm. These days I mostly only buy the MMs. If it is not something that we will use, it immediately goes in the donation box. When I find a MM deal on something like Theraflu (recently at WAGs), I rotate it into my stockpile and rotate what is there, but not yet expired, out (in this case it was Robitussin).

Although I do have stockpiles of food items (purchased for free or close to it), the things I like to stockpile the most are non-perishables: kleenex, paper towels, TP, foil, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, toothbrushes, razors, shampoo, body wash, shaving cream, etc. I have a designated space for each product. I donate the brands that are not our favs or give to family members who like them.

I stockpile non-perishables for economic reasons. When I see a rock bottom price and I have coupons, I'll buy all that I can. One example is the Reynolds foil that we USED TO be able to get for free at WAGs with an MC and an in-ad Q. I had a feeling that the gravy train on that one would end, so every time I had Qs and I could get it for free, I bought all that I could. Now, I am sooo glad that I did.

I am to the point with my non-perishable stockpiles, however, that unless it is a MM, free, or just pennies in OOP, I'll take a pass on the deal.

I am assuming that EVENTUALLY I will use everything that I have stockpiled. My DH is going to retire in a couple of years and I want to spend my time with him so I'll stockpile for another two years and then cut way back once he retires.
