I was concerned that the next few months would be on the low side.
Instead, entrants are adjusting their budgets a bit to account for holiday spending (smart!!).

Welcome everyone to our monthly challenge

At the rate my October spending went I sure hope my November is going to be so much better. I have a lot of meat and veg so I think I will be good.

I like the idea of the Menu Planning for the month. I used to do it on weekends and cook all day and store as I hated quick food during the week. I must get back into that. I have a few stew dinners and pork loins dishes from the Crock pot in the freezer. I usually cook extra and save some for another dinner.

Years ago I used to Menu Plan for the month with working day care all the time and it kept me on track.
Perhaps its time to do that again but with teenagers and football etc it is a little harder perhaps just to plan out the dinner would be great...

I'm back and ready to go. You can count me in for $450 this month. I will be hosting Thanksgiving with about 18-20 people. My husband is one of 11 kids, not all live here so that is why there's only 18-20. I will be working hard to us up freezer food to make room for an extra turkey and an extra ham. My budget will include groceries, hba and eating out. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids, and a JRT).

I hope to be more organized with postings this time around. Thanks so much for all your support. I'm looking forward to a super November.

Good Luck everyone with your goals!!

I've never done this before but I think I will give it a go this month. Since the Kroger megadeal this week my upright and side by side freezers will not fit another thing, so if I can't live off my stockpile for November there is something wrong with me! I've got a few more things to get next week in the megadeal but am not planning on much oop, but I'll set my spending at $150 just to give me a cushion for Thanksgiving. I'll have to get veggies, milk, bread, etc but I don't think I'll need anything else.

Starting off I've got $8.50 in cats and a $25 Target gift card. Family consists of DS, DD and myself. I've got three dogs and one cat but hopefully my stockpile of Chef Michaels and Purina One will keep them fed.

One question though, does $$ spent for q's at clipping services count against ? I'm assuming it does but I've decided it's much cheaper to buy the q's I need rather than newspapers and getting q's I don't need.

    I'm up for the challenge!

Oh and also.....if you're not sitting down, all you hardcore stockpilers please sit before you read more.......I'm down to my last 4 rolls of TP so I will have to invest some funds in that department!

Goal $100.00 oop and getting closer to the bottom of the chest freezer ! (Family of 5 and we grow alot of our own vegies and have a flock of chickens)

Since we are getting close to holiday gift giving, I am also setting a personal goal of gifting home made, baked and stockpile inspired gift baskets for friends and family! I'll have to purchase a few embelishments but....hmmmm maybe not. I am thinking outside of the box!~

Thanks for including me in this terrific group!

    pk:)
In keeping with my goals, today I set up a large bag of brownie and cookie mix products (free with coupons and cats) that the kids and I will make holiday gifts with come december.

Also reserved those free after coupon candles to make up soothing bath baskets.

I'll need to acquire 10 holiday plates, bowls or baskets over the next 2 months for the cookie/brownie gifts
    and
embellish the bath relaxing candle gift idea with extras and a basket or something.
but I am getting closer to that goal! And it does feel good!
