Do you switch from different brands? I have a few check friends roak like good start and similac but I haven't bought yet. If I use up all the check I been given I think I will be cover.

I personally never switched from brand to brand but I had a few friends who did. I think it's ok as long as it's the same type of formula - w/ iron, lactose free, etc. Also as my babies got older they used less as they were eating more food. Around 10-11 months I started adding a little whole milk and less formula. Started with like 1/4 milk and 3/4 formula to a bottle and slowly worked up.

With my second who is currently still on formula (9 months, only 3 more until no more!) I swtitch to whatever is cheapest in the basic type because she doesn't have any problems with it. My oldest had to be on sensitive and we used Parent's Choice and then Member's Mark. It all depends on how your kid tolerates it. Some kids can only be on Similac or Enfamil even the generics cause a problem.

Sorry y'all, it's been a little crazy here lately. As I said before the Lord has blessed us with work this past week so I've been busy at work and on the home front, my father is not doing well again. He's been dealing with health issues since April and he hasn't been doing well this past week again. Please keep my father in your prayers.

I don't have many formula stash just yet. but he will be having formula till he is one so its like less than 5 months to go. I have 4 of 12.5 oz and 1 of 24 oz emfamil so all together equal 6 small 12.5 oz cans.

he almost finish 1 can within a week so a few days left for that can.

Should I be worried to stock on formula ? or just get deals as it goes?

    TIA

    My two cents......
I had some when DS was using it that was past the exp date and ask Dr about it-she said it was just a guideline for the company on shelf time. I used it a couple of months past the date with no probs what so ever. As far as brand-I was like another poster here (sorry, forgot who posted it), I used whatever was cheapest. DS has a rock hard stomach so nothing really disagreed with him. I did use the powder mix though. Hope this helps Phin.

Just a suggestion for you on formula. If you are going to switch brands mix the new brand and the old brand first to ease the change.

Also when you take LO in for checkups ask the DR if they have any formula samples. I got some every checkup for DS wich cut the amount I had to buy almost in half. One time they were out of all the 'normal' kind but had a ton of the sensitive or something like that and they gave me a case of the samples (like 6 small cans I think). It was a big blessing on the pocket book.

Just thought I'd better check in. Haven't spent any more money. Used a bit of rebate money and a lot of coupons. I'm still at $20.79 for the month. I ate breakfast out yesterday, but, my mom paid for it.

My dad has pancreatic cancer. He has been through so much in the past 9 months. It's looking good. He's gained back almost 20 pounds that he lost when he first got sick. He had another scan yesterday and we see the oncologist on Monday to see what's going on. He's only 78 years old. I say "only" because my grandfather just died last year at 99.

I know this is off-topic, but, your prayers are appreciated.
