Add me at 300.00 for the month. I guess I will have to do most of the cooking. My hubby is a big budget buster.

Re: NOVEMBER challenge: Living Off Of Your Stockpile. JOIN TODAY!!!

I would like to join. I have had a hard time making our budget work.

We are a family of four, DH, DS (six), DD (four) and me. No pets and only sleeping pull ups.

I am setting our budget at 350.00 aiming high. I know I will get disappointed in I make it to low. Hoping to make it to the end of the month much lower.

This covers 50.00 to a friend for part of her cow, 20.00 to resupply to TP (literaly pull the last Cottonelle roll out this morning) and 15.00 for out to lunch with friends after volunteering.

I know I am not as skilled at some of you. I am contenstly amazed that people can feed their family for only 50.00 a month.

But thanks for setting this up, I need this personal challenge to get back on track.

I feel the same way! I have not been able to stick to a food budget! We are a family of 7, dh, me, kids 21, 13, 11, 10, 8. Using coupons has kind of given me an EXCUSE to buy more, perhaps more than I need and not living off of what I have.

I need help with meal planning and sticking to that! HELP!!! :hectic1: (I do however make 80% of our food from scratch, 10% pre-made, and 10% restaurant). Rarely do I buy "snacks/junk food". Meats and produce are my biggest $$$ items.

I need the personal challenge too...not sure why I chose NOVEMBER to do this but I suppose if I can make it this month , I could do any month!!!

Please take my name off the list for November. I'll try to jump back in in Dec.

I'll still be "auditing" the challenge and keeping up with everyone next month, I just can't add anything else to my plate right now. December should be a calmer month......haha! Famous last words right?

I have a HUGE problem with meal planning as well. Maybe we should have a topic about that as well. But now that my freezer is full of meat. I really have no excuse.

Good Luck. I think this well at least let me know where I am spending money. I just lose track midmonth and "run out".

I'll be back - I promise!! I may even pipe in to cheer y'all on in Nov.
We have to go to Fla for a week (unplanned) to get our house ready to rent since we can't sell it in this market. Then I have HUGE college work deadlines to meet on top of that. (going back to college at 40 something years old is HARD!! But will be worth it soon!) So I just don't want the added challenge/pressure of watching the budget. LOL

    Gasp,
TBB has a budget this month

    My November goals.......
$100.00/$25wk, dinning out - 4 times for the month, limiting stockpiling purchases to $1000.00 in retail

$100.00/$25wk for produce, bread, dairy products and sodas
Any other purchases will fall into a retail cap below.

Limit dinning out to 4 times for the month.

Limit stockpiling to $1000 in retail purchases.
Yeah, I changed my mind about this one. At first I wasn't going to spend anything - then I remembered it will hurt some of the people I donate to - if I quit completely.
This figure may seem like a lot, but it's really not. I have been bringing in way too many items with the 10% rule. My personal stock up price is a quarter and I find way too much for that so I am limiting my self on the pre coupon, retail shelf price of the products that I buy.
So when I go and spend 2.86 at Publix for the bogos and free after q items and save 85.xx - that 85.xx/2.86 is being kept up with this month and capped.
Same thing with Target, Wags, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Piggly Wiggly and all the places I play at.

Yes, the 10% from the challenge will still apply to all my purchases. It's imprinted in my brain. Thanks SJ.
I expect incoming funds this month from mirs, stockpile trades, and a yard sale (weather permitting).

My main focus this month is to keep as much as possible of my incoming funds to prepare for Dec. Yeah, I have funds already allocated for Dec, but I have decided I want to hold them for Jan
Next month is a big mir month, big meat sale month, seafood sale month and salty snack sale month.

I am for no more than $60. I am moving to MO around Christmas and I need to go through whats in the freezer and some of my dry goods. So just fresh produce, meat if needed, lunch items, and milk. Hopefully by doing this I will fight temptation to shop.
