I've never done this challenge before, but would love to give it a try. Please sign me up!
I'm a little vague about what counts & what doesn't. November is holiday shopping month for me (Black Fri, natch!), so if that is counted (gifts for the kids, etc), then $200 for the month. If not, then I'm good for $100/month ($20/week) for the groceries.
ETA: I have a question about what this means: or the greatest profit for the month will win.
ETA #2: if you need background info, it's just me & my two boys, 6 & 4 (almost 5). Even though they're young, they eat like food was just invented. I do holiday baking / food gifts & usually host Thanksgiving. My goal of $100 for the month stands because I think I can do it anyway.

Goal: 350.00
increased my budget to be able to stock up during all the holiday sales (sugar, butter, canned goods etc).

I would like to try the challenge. My goal is 200.00 for a family of four 2 adults, a 6 year old and a 2 year old.
I will try it!
I will set my goal at $350 for the month for food/HBA for 2 adults, 2 young children (1 in diapers) and 2 dogs. I am also hosting Thanksgiving dinner so hopefully I left enough room in the budget to pay for that!
Rebates that people put back into their grocery budget get counted as profit. Also earned GC. Some people count sales of stockpile goods that go back to the grocery budget profit. So some people actually make money every month on their groceries.
Me personally - I just count what I spend. All of it. GC that I have don't count in my costs. If I ever did get a rebate or GC I guess I could add it - but sadly that doesn't really happen for me!
