| Re: NOVEMBER challenge: Living Off Of Your Stockpile. Weak ones, we're done with week 1! Yesterday we had fried eggs for breakfast, tuna sandwiches for lunch, and pork ribs for dinner.
It's supposed to be 70 degrees (UNSEASONABLY WARM) today,
so I need to look in the deep freeze for some split chicken breasts to grill out again today
This morning we (DS2) are crabby and slightly feverish (joy)
and are eating cocoa puffs for breakfast.

| Re: NOVEMBER challenge: Living Off Of Your Stockpile. Weak ones, we're done with week 1! Hey Phin, I try to do 2 or 3 a year. Probably won't do another one until next spring. I did a little better than I did this summer but not as good as I have in the past. I really think the economy is hurting my yard sales. Plus I didn't advertise it in the paper. We just threw up some signs the day of. Had too much stuff in the garage and basement, and my older otc stuff was expiring.
We have had so much rain I missed having a couple of sales this year.
I found out the hard way you can loose your butt at one of these if you don't truly get frees.
My suggestion to anyone that does a yard sale is put your asking price on your items as they come in. Just mark them with a permanent marker. Saves lots of time instead of having to remember what you paid and what you want.
Like free theraflu from last month at wags - I sold bunches at 2.50 - reg shelf price is 5.49 and generic was 4.99
Body wash and shampoo - $2.00 and the reg wags price was 3.99 & 4.99
Chapsticks that we got free after we rolled our 2.99(3) I sold for $1.
I had no idea about stockpile yardsales until a few years back when I was reading about a hcw member that sold $5500. Yep, she sells that kind of money every time.
Can't remember who it was now that did it. Tried to find her in the threads last month, but couldn't. Did find a post where someone else referred to her sale so It wasn't a figment of my imagination, LOL.
Anyway, best I remember is that she saved her stuff up and had one huge one, plus she said that everyone in her neighborhood waits on her to have it and actually stops to ask about the next one.
She had a cash register, people to restock as the stuff sold and someone to bag. She was a pro.
That $5500 is my goal and I do have the inventory to get it. I am just not prepared enough to sell it.
One of these days I will have the perfect storm and get that kind of money. I will get my yardsale in the paper, have the christian station announce it, put up oodles of signs, have a cash register, enough tables to hold my stuff and then I will just sit back and stare at all the cash. LOL
CMC(couponsmakecents) is a pro. She has had several a year and has hers down to a science. She has help me several times over the years with pricing and questions.

Last weeks was followed to a tee except I change 2 days around.
Hopefully I do just as good this week.
I scored some free chili from a chili feed I worked for and I have that in the menu this week for Wed. but will change it around and have it today and have today's menu on Wed. and keep my chili fixins for another time.
Sun. Chili will make grilled cheese or corn muffins
Mon. BBQ pork, baked beans, canned peaches
Tuesday Taco's with all the fixins
Wednesday Ravioli, cheese bread, summer squash and zucchini
Thursday Pork Tenderloin, Rice, green beans, pudding
Friday Leftovers
Saturday Stir Fry with rice, salad.( will be using frozen veggies from the freezer)
Have everything on had except will need to get some lettuce and need to make some buns for the bbq pork. Will make those today. |

| Re: NOVEMBER challenge: Living Off Of Your Stockpile. Weak ones, we're done with week 1! Decided this morning to try to organize some of the loose coupons I have in various places.
You know it's time to give DH/SO some attention when he suggests that maybe he should tape some to his privates (OUCH!)
