Default Re: NOVEMBER challenge: Living Off Of Your Stockpile. HAPPY BLACK FRIDAY!!!!!!

I am one of the crazies. Didn't go to bed last night! My mom took the kids after our meal and dh and I went to a movie. Then We went to TRU and waited in line in the cold forever only to find the camera I wanted for dd gone. I was not happy. We went to WM to PM it and they didn't even carry it so we went out to the car and I took a cat nap in WM parking lot. We went back in at 3 . I got several of the $3 clothes, a Wii game for $10 and a couple of cheap dvds. The clothes were my biggest concern. I came home and slept from 6:30-8:30 and went to my mom's to get the kids. Now I am about to go take a nap with ds.

I just went to Kroger and converted $200.00 of our gift money for Best Buy credit cards.

By doing that I got $20.00 off of my grocery purchase.

So I got $200. In gift cards
AND $92.79 worth of groceries
for $194.40
(Plus a $2.OYNO)

So, the way I figure, I made $5.60
and I have $2.00 for my next grocery purchase

Well I'm home. Nothing too exciting. Between Walmart & Target I spent almost $200 but $27 of it was what SIL asked me to get for her, $45 of it was from the $$ Grandma gave me to buy cloths for the boys from her for Christmas and $8X.xx was on a gift card. Plust got a new $10 Target giftcard for spending $100.

But I was bad and bought stuff for myself. But it was less than $20 so I figured it wasn't too bad. They were already out of much of what I was interested in. But I got something for my niece for her birthday and a couple more things for my other nieces for Christmas. Got DS1 2 leapster games, some bakugons and a couple movies. Also something for my Sis to add to her Christmas present that is actually for the baby to be (not due until April)

After I put the boys down for their naps in a half hour or so I will start wrapping stuff and get a better idea of where I am lacking. But we already got the tree up and decorated today and the decoration in the house done (all the ones I am going to put out this year at least).

Busy day.....now what to make for dinner? :shrug7:

Not especially good. Target had a set of 4 or 6 (I can't remember now) for $10.

I didn't bring any leftovers home this time so I have none to start with at all an absolutely no care to cook tonight. Maybe we will just have tatertot caserole.

I do not want to do any more shopping this month. So hopefully my total will stay as is unless the rebate fairy decides to make an appearance, but I'm not waiting on much.

Did some shopping on Tuesday.

Walgreens
5 boxes kleenex $2.97

Bag n save
$10.61

No Frills
$.92

Wednesday
ALdi
$ 4.20

Total OOP$18.90
Total OOP for the month $249.36

Good thing DH got a $10 GC to No frills for Thanksgiving I will need it to get milk to keep me under budget for the month.

Everyone did great this month keep up the good work.
I am seriously thinking about doing a dollar amount for the entire year of 2010.
I think the dollar amount will be $2010 that comes to about $38 a week.
I did $30 average per week from March to the middle of September this year for food only so I think I can easily do $38 for all household expenditures.
I am going to put my December amount at $40 a week to get used to that amount before I take the plunge to it for the entire year.
The goal behind this is that DH and I want to go to Hawaii for our 10th aniv. in 2011 and we want to pay cash for it without touching the savings. So any extra monies from rebates, extra work, recycling has been going to that.
So far have $475 in that account. Basically all free money.
If I can do the $38 a week I should be able to put about the same amount per week into the Hawaii account. I think $75 a week is what the average family of 4 should spend on food/hba a week so I will just cut it in half an live on $38. My freezer is busting at the seams again and the pantry is overflowing so I will just eat from the stockpile for a while.
We plan on expanding our garden this year hoping to double it in size so I can freeze and can more stuff so that should keep the cost of produce low in the summer months.

I think you can do it. What a great goal.

I on the other hand don't think I could keep myself in check for an entire year. I can't even do it monthly. But then I don't have the thought of a great vacation to keep me motivated.
