Default I have been slowly working on my stock pile

My husband and I have been trying to work things out. We have been married for 15 years. So anyway he has noticed some items around the house.

We went shopping yesterday. I wanted to get some more dawn so now I have 4 total. He said it will take me 4 years to use all that . He said for me to get dishwasher liquid. I said I would if I can find a good deal on it.

Oh and he also did not like the fact I wanted to buy some more TP. He said we do not need excess of it. I said I use it every time I use the potty and so does Madison and that we could not ever not have enough of it .So today I am buying more .

Your hubby would really hate me then. LOL
I have a dishwasher and over 200 boxes of tabs for it, PLUS I also have over 100 bottles of Dawn.
TP, at last count there were just over 400 4 roll packs, and several multi-roll packs.

And I agree there is no such thing as too much TP for us girls!

My hubs never had a problem with it, but he really started loving it when I amassed over 150 Fusion razors. His favorite. He also noticed we were putting less miles on the new car since we weren't driving to town every time we needed household and HBA stuff.
Used to be if we needed TP, or shampoo, or whatever it meant a 30 mile drive to town and back just to get a couple of items. Now we could stay home for a year without having to go to town, if need be.
Once you start getting things he likes I'd say he will come around.

Hopefully he'll come around. My hubby loves when I bring home more good deals. He gets a thrill out of finding more space. He always says it's so nice to go to the pantry to get something & not have to run to the store.

My husband loves me couponing. He also is the one who finds space for the stuff. He is very good at organizing and can be very creative in finding room for everything. He always asks me "Do you have a big challenge in the office for me to do?" I always try to give him a challenge but so far it hasn't worked. LOL I love my husband he is so sweet.
Your husband will come around sometimes it takes time.

That's a hard situation. Stockpiling is hard for most people to understand. maybe you could ask him if someone knocked on the door each week with several free items that they would eventually use would he take them? You'd never know for sure what would be in the box, but eventually, every single item you ever needed would show up in the box so that you never had to pay for it again (or very little as is the case with couponing often).

I had a friend who totally didn't keep anything in her house--if she wanted to take a shower she'd find out she didn't have any shampoo and send her hubby to the nearest store--until she saw my stockpile.

SMILE Re: I have been slowly working on my stock pile

It sounds like your husband needs to see a reason behind stockpiling. If you seek out the products he likes best and begin to stockpile those items, he will begin to realize that it's a security blanket to have those items close at hand.

I would encourage you to figure out what his favorite shelf stable foods are (especially snacks) and begin to amass a small stash. Then, move on to his favorite non-food items: body wash, shampoo, razors, batteries, etc.

By focusing on the things he would enjoy and building up those items, you'll show him that having these things is just one way that you show how much you care about him.

Also: It might be best to shop alone if his recommendations for what to buy aren't consistant with your goals *yet*.

Default Re: I have been slowly working on my stock pile

Ok I went shopping today:
I think IMO we have plenty of shampoo/ conditioner, razors, etc. I should not need to go buy anything this month unless its a deal too good to pass up. Money is very tight and unless it a mere pennies or free I am not buying. I have plenty of Tp also. I know some of the stockpiles are a lot bigger but I have only been doing this for about a good month so all in all I feel pretty good. I know that the deal will come again and again. Like next week I will go to Walgreens and buy the contour meters. I will have some RR to spend if needed.

My freezer is full, cabinets are not as full but we can eat for atleast a month on the food we have.

So please point at all good deals this month. I love shopping but it must be very cheap.

I think my hubby has also come around to my using coupons. He took me to Walgreens 7 Walmart for some coupon shopping lol.
