I put away everything as soon as I get home.Put dates on stuff to make sure nothing expires.Rotate my stock to use oldest first.Always check my dates at store if it's something I am stockpiling alot of.Everything has it's special place.H&B products gets stored in 2 bath rooms.Laundry stuff in storage building.Every thing else is stored in the kitchen pantry.I like to say item is on shelf # 3,an so on.I know were every thing is.

Oh geez.

I am the worlds most disorganized person.

My stockpile is lucky to br brought in from the car, first of all.
REALLY lucky to make it out of the bag within a week...
And SUPER lucky to find that magic spot to call its own on the shelf in the cabinet.

So... no real method here...

I have two refrigerator/freezers and 1 upright freezer. The main fridge/freeze is for day to day items. The basement fridge is for soda/beer, extra and extra milk, etc. The basement freezer is specifically for bread and dessert items. The upright freezer is divided by food type and exp.

I have a decent amount of cupboards in my kitchen so they are organized by type and exp. All excess food items that don't fit well or aren't needed relatively oftern (like cereal, cake mixes, potato pouches, easy macs, etc) are in a free-standing cupboard in the basement organized the same way.

Other than the food cupboard, I have three other of the same cupboards in the basement - one for paper items, one for H&B items, and one for cleaning. Some cleaning items, papertowels and TP have homes on uppershelves. I only keep currently used H&B in the bathrooms. I do have some stock of TP under the sink. Currently used cleaning is kept on a high shelf in the linen closet. Laundry items are stored on shelves next to the washer or under the stationary sink.

if I bought something exp - I'd take it back.

when i do my shopping trips, everything first gets put on to the table in the kitchen and i sometimes take pics to put on my hcw blog. Then I start unpacking, i have many places for things to go: all frozen/fridge stuff get put away first, then all the pantry items, dry goods/drinks and dishsoap, baggies etc. Then all the laundry/men's women's health and beauty items go to my laundry room/closet to the shelfs in there.
Last I put away any kids items/gifts that stuff all goes upstairs and will either go to the hall closet, the bathroom drawers, ds's closet or the unfinished room (toys are stored in suitcases) All clothes/candy gifts and wrapping paper are stored in the spare/office room closet. So yeah I pretty much put things a way right away. I may have to go back and readjust in the pantry or laundry to make more room etc. But it all gets in it's designated spot that same day.

i haven't taken anything back that is expired, but that doesn't happen often because i check the dates, especially on dressing/mayo. I do organize by dates my stockpile items, it makes it easier for me to know what needs to be used up first and some items i right w/sharpie the dates so i can it more clearly like things we don't use often or go through very fast. I don't really organize by flavor, like with cereal, it goes in by dates so it is all mixed up in varities.

I know what you mean. It is so tempting to come home with a carload of freebies and throw the bags on the floor and go watch tv. :)

My husband is not very supportive of my "hobby" and thinks I am a little crazy. I go through great lengths to "hide" the extent of my hobby from him. To that end, I shop when he is at work, so he doesn't see how much time it takes. And, I have to put everything away IMMEDIATELY when I enter the door.

I organize my receipts on my desk.
Then, I put away perishables.
Then, I put away nonperishables.
IMMEDIATELY.

He comes home and doesn't even realize I obtained a carload (literally) of freebies that day. He comes home, and the house just looks...well...normal.
I mean, I have one recyclable bag in our office full of rebate items that hold until I get the check, or until I see it on my RA account. He gives me a hard time about that one bag all the time. Seriously. Boy, if he only knew. LMAO.

He just thinks a fairy makes sure his toilet paper holder always just seems to have tp, his food is magically on the table every night, Breyers and Blue Bunny have a magic shoot to our freezer for his daily midnight ice cream sneak, the pack of gum in his car nevers seems to run out, his toothpaste never needs to be squeezed out at the end for some reason, and boy the pantry always just seems to be full! It is simply just amazing!!!

Yes I try to put stuff away as soon as I get home. Atleast throw it in the right places, like TP in the bottom of the linen closet only to be orgazined in a little time later. Normally it's my kids job to "put it away" then I go behind them a stack them neatly.
I do put things in by expiration date. I try to stack things neatly in the pantry or it makes me crazy. In fact once the kids are in bed I plan on pulling everything out and redoing it. It has been a busy two months so things have just been put back randomly and because of that we had two bags of egg noddles open at the same time.
I have had to take back food to a store because of the expiration date. It was peanut butter, just swapped it with a good one. It was last summer and there was only about two weeks before it was bad which is shocking since how long peanut butter last. I learned my lesson and now look at the dates.

I don't have a stockpile for fridge items. If you ask my husband we have no food by looking in the fridge. I am still working on how to orgazine my freezer. I have a small one above the fridge and a medium (5x5?) stand alone. I have a big stockpile of fries and pizza slices. Not sure how to orgazine it all. Can't find anything but those. Not looking forward to having my hands in the freezer for awhile. Suggestions?

Did anybody else catch this? I am so jealous! And curious, too! <Imagining stacks and stacks of inserts, six computers and printers, a huge trash can, paper cutter in the corner...> Just what is in your coupon room?
