Oh so we discuss our DH's a lot on here huh? ROFL
Well I admire those of you who have young children and are doing the stockpiling and saving. Oh I wish I had done it when mine were young, what a difference it would have made. So now I guess I can just pass what I've learned on to the "younger" moms on here and hope to be a help to them, like I wish someone had done for me way back when. (ok I'm not THAT old, just started our family right away and we married fairly young).

Well I don't know about "wise one" but... if you want to learn from someone who has made A LOT of stupid financial mistakes i can definitely tell you what NOT to do. (you know that "hindsight is 20/20" phrase..lol) I mean I'm one of those that used to shop at CVS WITHOUT a CVS card.
Strange mood? Blame it on the weather..LOL Its a beautiful day here- in the 60's - I love sweater weather. (after living in sunny Florida for over 20 yrs, loving the autumn weather that you don't get down there).
Ok off to get some work done...looking forward to starting the challenge tomorrow and getting to know more fellow couponers in this challenge.
No. Not a typo.
I feel that I have the skillZ and self-control (e'hem) to keep up my stockpile,
while keeping the spending under the 10% rule.
I also plan to grow a much larger pumpkin patch next year to sell more pumpkins.
It was a great success this year in my vegetable garden,
and by utilizing some weeded areas, I will be able to build that wealth.
AND thank you to the nudge I got from roxygirlie this month,
I am going to attempt to sell enough of my stockpile each month to make up for any spending over that 10%.
Stay tuned...![]()
Count me in! this is my first challenge so...baby steps.
We are a family of 4. Myself, DH, DD (8) and DD (2), a pup, two cats and a fish lol
my goal is less than 150.00 OOP.
quick question though, i have a seperate "play money" budget, outside of grocery money, that pays for any take out food, do i still count it anytime we eat out?
I have some cans of pineapple chunks - any suggestions on how to use these up?

We have a separate budget for that too. Hubby set up an "entertainment" budget that includes eating out and what few activities we do. I am only counting my grocery account money. We actually set up a checking account just for groceries. I didn't feel safe carrying cash around so I use my debit card. We will put in the regular budget amount for the month ($250) and see if I can stay at $100 or under. I will also put any rebates in that account.
Now hubby says tonight "oh I want to see if you can stay at $100 and NOT add in the rebates....." I just said we will see. I just got a new BIG freezer and am still looking to stock it up more, that was the plan for the rebate money.
