Dh turned our heat on Monday morning. I wanted to kick him. There was a chill in the air he claimed. That's the only time ours has been on. It was in the 80s here today, crazy southern weather.

I really feel for you folks with the extreme weather.
Here in south Jersey we seem to have the best of both worlds.
In the winter it rarelly gets below 30, and in the summer it rarelly gets above 90.
For the first 5 years we lived in this house we heated with a woodstove in the winter and only used box fans in the summer.

We won't be turning on the heat 'til probably november. By april it'll be turned off. Then keeping the kids from turning on the air will become a problem around june. I like to only use it when the nights become too hot. Until then I try to open and close windows to control the temps.

Phin

I agree with Phin. This is what I would do as well... my bread recipe gives me two loaves at a time and I always freeze the other.

I can relate. Now that summer is over I have only 3 pairs of pants. 2 of those I won't wear in public. I so wish there was a thift store close. We didnt see alot of garage sells this year and the ones we managed to get to were really high priced.
Did not go to town again today. Had beef hash, scrambled eggs and buscuits for lunch. Made chili and homemade cinnamon rolls again. SO did antifreeze checks on all the vehicles and I started deep cleaning the heaters...still haven't turned them on. We haven't decided if we are putting plastic up or not. The only draft we seem to have is by the back door and we just replaced the house door and storm door. DS1 said today that the first case of H1N1 was reported at the middle school.

Similarly,
what does it say when you can still wear some of the things you wore in highschool some 20 years ago???

L Grilled cheese and soup
D meatloaf parmesan noodles and buttered bread
Snacks apples for DS's I almost ate a whole bag of Grasshoppers..I let DS's have about 6 each and hubs had 2 and I had the rest..sigh.. Aunt Flo is getting ready to make her appearance and I have been dying for something sweet. I did not go to the store and buy candy, I held out as long as I could.
mmmm. The boys LOVE grilled cheese and tomato soup. Great thinking
AF is due here today as well, so I'm going to utilize that as my reasoning for plowing through the Keebler cookies a package at at a time, as well

I forgot to post that I found .26 in the couch yesterday
then a dime in the parking lot after school yesterday.

(that ought to drive up my profit margin)
