Default cutting into cereal box--does it affect freshness?

Okay, so with all of these Kelloggs rebates and Pop Tarts free movie offers, etc. I have been hacking into my cereal boxes and pop tarts boxes and eggo boxes. Does this affect the freshness as long as the inner bag is intact? thanks!

Default Re: cutting into cereal box--does it affect freshness?

it shouldn't hurt the freshness if you have not opened , punctured the inside sealed bag.. i always use a razor blade and score the area i want and peel it off..so i am not cutting through the box.. but it still shouldn't matter if inside bag is not damaged...

I should have done what you did--I did cut into the box, but pulled the cereal bag out first so it didn't get cut. Thanks!
