I freeze milk all the time it's good for about 3 months. I have found that I just put it in the freezer and I never take any out or anything. I just bought 6 -1/2 gallons of milk a few weeks ago because they were at date and were .99 a piece. I place them on a towel to catch any condensation. A half gallon will thaw at room temp in about 10 hours, a gallon takes close to 24. I shake it as it thaws. Butter freezes beautifully, I always have at least 5 lbs in the freezer. Last month because of Easter it was 1.38 a lb, so I bought 5 lbs. I already had 4 in the freezer, I just like to have a good stash of butter.
Turns out my Q was for a different singles than what is on sale, oh well. I guess I'll hold onto them. DD's b-day is still 3 months away, so I guess we can get some cheese for burgers between then and now, plus 4 th of July should have some good sales on those same items.
I do freeze shreds, I don't do blocks. Dh doesn't like his cheese "crumbly".
