Another good use for toothpaste(since we all get it for free all the time):

rub your hands with toothpaste after cutting up onions or garlic, then rinse. It gets the smell off your hands. It's also good for cleaning stainless steel sinks. Just rub all over and rinse off. Works like baking soda, but a bit more gentle.

I have a question. Has anyone ever used cat litter in their basement to remove moisture?

FYI use non-scoopable, non-clumping litter for traction. Scoopable when very wet is slicker than snot on a door knob.

I had a big spill of baby oil on my Berber Carpet. I put down kitty litter, then a paper towel and encyclopedias )for weight). Kept repeating until it was gone-can't even tell it was there!
This was the NON clumping litter.

Very good ideas...and another for peroxide if your dog ever gets ahold of chocolate or I guess anything that he shouldnt peroxide and water mixture will make them throw it up. Learned this from a Vet after an emergency and it worked within a few seconds.

And Im sure everyone knows about using vinegar for EVERYTHING!

Free Shaving Gel and Packing Tape from Wags

1 gallon sized one-zip bag
1 can shave gel
clear packing tape.

Fill the baggy with the can of shave gel. Get the gel into the bottom so that you can burp or suck the air out of the bag without losing any of the gel. Seal the baggy and tape it with packing tape on all 4 sides. Come back with a 4 inch piece of tape and reinforce each corner by placing the middle of the long edge of the tape at the corner and wrapping the tape around the entire corner of the bag.

Flatten the bag on a table and smooth out the shave gel. Great place for a toddler/ preschooler to *draw* or practice writing letters with thier fingers. Voila

Default Re: Wags : Use for all that gel and tape

I just spray the gel directly on to the table and let my grandkids play in it, writing, or even with spatulas and cookie cutters. They love it and it cleans up fairly well.

I love it Sav'n !
I dont have to monitor it when its in the bags vs making sure it doesnt get in mouths and eyes. I also like that we can reuse it. Its a nice quiet activity that my preschoolers can do in the same room as my older kids during school time.
