My sister in law places little chunks of bar soap all around her garden, she swears it keeps the deer and rabbits from eating her plants.
I make wreaths and I use conditioner to get the pitch off of my hands. If you mix a little baking soda and conditioner, it works as well if not better than Gojo.

I used to travel ALOT, and I learned a very useful thing from Aussies.

When you travel, clean your clothes in the sink with shampoo. Most hotels provide shampoo. I did it all the time. Squeeze the water out, and roll it up in a towel to absorb the liquid, then hang to dry- usually ready in the morning (pants take two days, shirts overnight usually). I never ever pay for hotel clothes cleaning service- so expensive!
The only thing is that the clothes sometimes will be a little stiff since there was no fabric softener. Sometimes I would throw in a little conditioner. I've done this for about a decade and it always works for me.
At home, I clean pantyhose and delicates in the sink with shampoo. Woolite is too expensive.

Another WAG stockpile clever use?

Toothpaste on mosquito bites. Takes away the itch.

I use shampoo in my "prewash" bucket- I have a couple of the square laundry detergent or cat litter buckets with lids that I use to soak stinky or stained items (I have a toddler, a kindergartener, and a husband that are REALLY good at getting dirty!) I prefer to use suave coconut scented, it really covers up the stinky diaper smell.

I also use shampoo and a old "pouf" to scrub the soap scum while I'm in the shower. Amazingly, this works soooo much better than the strong chemicals- and my shower gets cleaned a lot more frequently than if I only used the chems!

I use disposable razors to shave the fuzzballs off my sweaters.

Dryer sheets are in all of our "out of season" clothes bags/bins, as well as one in each drawer, trash can, and under the seats in the car. There's another in the linen bin, and one in the bottom of the hamper.

We keep "filler" travel sized toiletry items in several places. I store them in "kits" and each kit has soap, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, toothbrush and paste, bandaids, disposeable razor, and deodorant in a "gender neutral" scent". The kits are stored in a quart sized ziplock bag, and there is one in each car, three that live in our suitcases, one that is in my "bridal emergency kit" (I've been to several weddings in the last couple years!), and one in our evacuation/emergency bag.

We also have a stash of allergy meds, pain relievers, tums, and bandaids in each diaper bag, in DH's work bag, and in my purse.

When something is really stuck to a pan fill it with water and bring to a boil then add a tablespoon of oxi clean and let set until the pan cools, usually what's stuck on just wipes right out. You have to be careful when you put in the oxi clean because it boils up. I also put oxi clean in thermos and coffee carafes it gets rid of discoloration right away.

Does anyone have any "magic" tricks to remove ink from a dress shirt? DH frequently has run-ins with ballpoint pens at his office. I cannot get these stains out--and end up trashing the shirts. Hate to do it, but what choice do I have? :shrug7:Be your best friend if you can help.

I have heard that hair spray sprayed on the stain works, you could try it.

I worked at a dry cleaners and before using the regular chemicals available, we always tried hairspray first.
Plain, old, cheap Aquanet or some variation thereof. I truly don't know if the non-aerosol types work....only had the Aquanet then.
Make sure to lay a folded washcloth or rag between the part with the stain and the rest of the garment. Spray on liberally and then blot with an old rag. Spray again and blot. If it hasn't come out most of the way after two sprays, it might be permanent. A little more will come out with washing though.
