Thank you so much for this info! I thought a whole outfit was ruined because it had blood on it. Not only was there a large amount of blood, but it was dried on. I soaked the items in peroxide and washed them. Now there's no sign of blood! Thank you!!

OxiClean is not peroxide, it is a compound called sodium perborate, which is another thing completely.
MrsPinecone is correct (of course :) ). Not to get all scientisty, but while hydrogen peroxide and sodium perborate both form a type of "oxygenating" peroxide, the perborate is much gentler and forms several different bleaching chemicals that each work somewhat differently.

Hydrogen peroxide, especially at full strength, wil break down the stain, but continue to break down the dyes, and eventually even the fabric if it's left too long or too much is used.

Hydrogen peroxide is fantastic at breaking down blood. Not so great on greasy type things.

My mother uses body wash in soap dispensers in the bathroom. She says it's cheaper than buying the soap.

I heard somewhere you can clean your toilet with coke. Not sure if this is true because I have never tried it.

Baking soda can be used to soothe bee stings.

You can use Body Wash as bubble bath as well. I don't buy my kids any bubble bath from the store in the cute little containers-I just use my Softsoap body wash stockpile. It makes your skin softer and the bubbles last a lot longer than actual bubble bath too.

Hey, It doesn't look like anyone has really posted to this thread in a while, but you can use extra hair conditioner as shave cream. You can also make your own laundry detergent if you have Ivory soap you want to use. It is super easy and very inexpensive.

Homemade Laundry Detergent

1 cup Fels Naptha or Ivory soap (grated finely)
1/2 cup washing soda
1/2 cup borax

Mix and stir in lidded container. For lightly soiled loads, use 1TBS. For heavily soiled loads use 2TBS.

Estimated cost: $1 for 32 TBS (cheaper if you have free soap!)
I use Ivory because Fels Naptha is hard to find around here. This does not bubble like regular detergent, but it works well. I have been using it for over a year and I love not having to buy laundry detergent.

Default Other uses for shampoo?

Okay, I'm not a big suave fan. Does anyone have any other uses for shampoo?? (No pets to use it on either)...

I've used shampoo as a toilet cleaner. It works great with a brush and it's non-toxic compared to 2000 flushes etc!
