OxiClean is not peroxide, it is a compound called sodium perborate, which is another thing completely. | MrsPinecone is correct (of course :) ). Not to get all scientisty, but while hydrogen peroxide and sodium perborate both form a type of "oxygenating" peroxide, the perborate is much gentler and forms several different bleaching chemicals that each work somewhat differently.
Hydrogen peroxide, especially at full strength, wil break down the stain, but continue to break down the dyes, and eventually even the fabric if it's left too long or too much is used.
Hydrogen peroxide is fantastic at breaking down blood. Not so great on greasy type things.
