I buy these in bulk when they are free/cheap and store them in a garage fridge that is not opened alot. I've been able to use them past dates with not one explosion or other bad results. I think that the fridge temp may have alot to do with it.

I have been freezing the biscuits in their packages for years now and they come out just fine. However the "Flaky" biscuits do not come out flaky. So I don't buy those. I find that the biscuits actually loose quality much faster if they are stored in the fridge for any length of time. They get slimy and sort of grey looking...and taste gross. So I just put them in the freezer as soon as I get them home. To thaw I just set on counter top for 30-45 min while oven is heating and then bake as directed on the package.

Crescent rolls (a little less flaky but fine for pigs in a blanket), cinnamon rolls, and all the Italian meals freeze just fine too.

Which ones do u find freeze the best? I bought flaky both the original and the butter ones. I freeze them too but like u said especially flaky one goes grey and doesn't rise, and Not taste good . I buy honey ones. They r better when I freeze them. I split them open which is easy because they r flaky. I put bit of sugar like 2 teaspoons or so, and nuts like walnut, hazelnut etc I side and sometimes I add any fruit paste, it can be graded apple, pumpkin, dates whatever u like. And close it tight by pressing the sides and bake it. And I have individual pies! Which is great for to go.

I also saw a receipe just few days ago for crockpot chicken pot pie and the guy threw few bisquits on the top of the dish instead of a dough which I can never ever prepare right! I haven't tried it yet but I thought it is a great idea!
    Has anyone tried this?

The Pillsbury Grands (regular and buttermilk) freeze the best for me. We are not really adventurous with our biscuits. I just them for good old fashioned biscuits and gravy. But I may need to check the crockpot chicken pot pie. That sounds yummy!
