I think it would be very beneficial for anyone that has any bit of a stockpile going to take pictures of it and keep it 'offsite' - hopefully there won't be any covered situations that ever happen to you - but, just in case, I'm not sure alot of adjusters would say sure you had 50 bottles of Tide

I need to do this actually as I now have a HUGE walkin pantry and 5 large closets full of my stockpile stuff (I stole the idea of peg board and my one closet actually looks like a store with razors and tbrushes:))

So - FYI - if you haven't, snap away and store every few months or when the piles get bigger - just in case.....

On that note, it's a very good idea to document all your personal property, with a list & photos. Alot of people will also video tape as well. Check with your agent, most of us are more than willing to store that information in our files. We unfortunately had some customers lose their everything (house, barn, contents, machinery) in a tornado last May. Having a list ahead of time really would have helped them out. They spent nearly 6 months trying to remember all that they had lost. Fortunately all's well that ends well.

Just bumping this and wanted to add - I "heard" so I've not verified - but if you donate to goodwill and plan to itemize on your taxes (which I highly suggest) - you now need photo proof of what you donated as well as the itemized list and goodwill receipt....that's what I "heard" - I haven't had a chance to confirm with my Acct.....FYI
