Default Great Deal on Food Saver AND Can I freeze cookie dough?

Well I gave in an bought a foodsaver they were on sale for 59.99 plus free shipping and 7% back at ebates which was on the original price so $7 back.

Go to ebates (or my points) and type in foodsaver
    Go to their website
and search for the FoodSaver v2830 add it to your cart
Enjoy Free Standard Shipping at FoodSaver.com when you spend $100 before the coupon code.
    So..
Add something small to your order to get it over $100 they have .64 replacement hoses but I chose a 9.99 food storage set I wanted.
Then Use code L8FAV28 at checkout. This offer is good until 12-31-08, or while supplies last.
With the hose = 60.63 shipped (plus tax though in WV it didnt charge me tax)

    Now my question.......

Can you freeze cookie dough rolls? Or ready to bake cookies?
The grocery store has .69 ready to bakes and .79 HUGE rolls of cookie dough and with the 1.50/2 coupon = Free
So I got like 20 packs of cookies. The RTB expire in January The rolls are good until Feb/Mar.
My sister said the RTB taste funny after frozen. But I was thinking maybe with the foodsaver theyd be better?

Do you freeze the ready to bakes?
Do you freeze the rolls in their package or take them out so they dont pick up the plastic flavor? Or would you cut them into smaller servings first?
Do you bake them and then foodsaver them? How long would they stay fresh like that?

I never freeze anything so Im going to have lots of questions to go with my new toy.

Yes you can freeze them, I have and when ready to bake--preheat oven put in frozen and add alittle time to bake.

I freeze them in their packages, but I quess you could put them in a bag too.

If you look on the board here under stockpiles and what you can or can not freeze that might help you out too>

I remember reading years ago that Toll House used to say you could freeze theirs (homeade) in the recipe. Roll it in log and freeze (wrapped of course). I think I even have it in one of their older cook books (probably from the 70's or early 80's). So I don't know why the RTB would be any different. Also Duncan Hines makes the frozen brownie dough too-in a ready to bake pan, so there is no reason that can't be frozen also.

I have a Rival food saver...Not impressed, I wonder if the Food Saver is better. I found the Rival didn't seal all the way and air got in after MINUTES....mental note, one more thing to add to my yardsale I want to have this spring.

I didnt freeze it we ate some that week and then I gave the rest away to friends and family. I figured if it were around Id eat it even if it didnt taste as good once frozen! And my big ol butt dont need it.
The foodsaver is still in the box Im kinda regretting that purchase.
My sister sent me the email with the deal details and since I had been reading about them trying to learn how to not waste as much and save more I thought this was perfect. So I used my Christmas $ to get it but then something else came up that I needed $ for and now I wish Id have kept the christmas $ for that emergency.
Oh well. I never buy anything just because I want it so I did. Hopefully Ill really like it when I get the chance to use it.
