Re: Another use for all the Pert Shampoo I do a lot of laundry with shampoo and often use conditioner as a rinse on my sweaters and finewash underwear. It works like a charm, smells good, no allergic reactions and the fabrics tend to look good longer. I use only the better shampoos for my laundry though. Shampoo also cleans my dark color doggy work clothes [which can get quite funky at times] very well, without having to resolve to color safe bleaches etc. I do have a top loader though - not sure how that would work for front loaders.
IMO shampoo also cleans better than most household cleaners - in addition to using it in the bathroom, I also use it for washing walls, light switches and doors + door frames. In a pinch - when out of regular dish detergent - I have used the cheap clear Suave shampoos for doing dishes, with no funny aftertaste or anything. I have also used oxy type dish detergents for doing white laundry [no bleach needed] or dog bedding etc - it gets "stuff" and stains out like no other detergent does... I used to wash dog bedding and blankets 2-3x at times with regular detergent and it still smelled like a wet dog afterwards. Not when I use shampoos!
Lastly - I have used shampoo in my carpet shampooer as well [carefully though] - I'll never buy another expensive bottle of carpet shampoo stuff that costs a fortune, and that stinks and makes the room smell for days afterwards, and still doesn't get the stains or dirt up. Loreal Vive works very well for that, smells good and the carpet gets cleaner than with any professional carpet shampoo I've ever used before. It gets pet stains as well, which is very important for me as we have a veritable zoo. I've been using shampoo for carpet cleaning for about 3 yrs now and don't see any deteriorating in the carpet fibers, actually - they look better considering the age, than the carpet in my old place that was done with official carpet shampoos!
