I asked my vet about using Baby shampoo for our dog, and he said it wasn't a good idea. He said dogs (and cats) have thinner skin than people. I like the bathtub and toilet cleaner ideas! Thanks.

This is from wikipedia ---
Shampoo for animals (such as for dogs or cats) should be formulated especially for them, as their skin has fewer cell layers than human skin. Cats' skin is 2-3 cell layers thick, while dogs' skin is 3-5 layers. Human skin, by contrast, is 10-15 cell layers thick. This is a clear example of why one should never use even something as mild as baby shampoo on a cat, dog, or other pet.

Shampoo intended for animals may contain insecticides or other medications for treatment of skin conditions or parasite infestations such as fleas or mange. These must never be used on humans. It is equally important to note that while some human shampoos may be harmful when used on animals, any haircare products that contain active ingredients/drugs (such as zinc in antidandruff shampoos) are potentially toxic when ingested by animals. Special care must be taken not to use those products on pets. Cats are at particular risk due to their instinctive method of grooming their fur with their tongues.

My sister is a machinist, and she said that Softsoap Spa, the blue kind, i great for getting her hands clean. My brother and husband work with her, so I bought a ton of it to send to work with them.

I never buy hand soap. I always use dish soap to fill the handsoap dispenser.

I've also used the Pert on my dogs! They smell YUMMY and their hair is super soft. I use baby shampoo on their heads though

there's bodywash in my handsoap dispenser right now! I tried it once and thought i didn't like it, so put it in the hand dispenser and it works just as well.

You guys make me feel like a cheapskate;) I use powder dishwasher detergent to clean my shower. It has a nice lemon scent! I have used shampoo before too. I also used to put children's bubble bath in the handsoap dispenser. We have six people washing their hands numerous times a day, but I've found a way to cut down the soap use--I put a rubber band around the neck of the bottle, keeping the pump from going all the way down. I use dishwasher tablets cut in half to clean our dishes. The dishes always come out clean. I also put 2/3 bottle of dishsoap in a bottle and fill the rest with water. I go through dishsoap like crazy, so this helps it last just a bit longer. I have so many crazy little things I do to save money on things even though I get most of them cheap or free!

I use conditioner to shave my legs, no razor burns or cuts, its cheap or free, I got suave 7 cents for 3 bottles the other day. It also leaves your legs SUPER smooth, so when you get out of the shower it's okay to forget the lotion.
