bump - I am curious too. When I go to the stores the expiration dates are only a few months out. That can't be true!

I don't know how much more up to date info one of the mods may have but what I found a while back info on this was for salad dressing unopened one month past the purchase by date. My understanding is on salad dressing the date on it is the purchase by date not use by date. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I have loads salad dressing I may be using as marinades when freezing meat. LOL Yes I agree it is hard to find any dressing past Dec 08.

According to this: Salad Dressing 10-12 months unopened.. hth

Funny but true story.
When Grandpa died and we had his funeral in March 2007, my mother in law put out dressing for the salad that had never been opened that had a 2005 exp date. I told her, "<name> this is expired" and she said, "SO, someone will eat it." But nobody did. It's still getting put out each time there's a family gathering. And still getting put back in the pantry unopened.
I think I need to toss it when she isn't looking.
Well, ranch is milk based right?
I wonder about ranch. I've used italian a year past the date no problem. But I just found an unopened bottle of ranch in the way back of the pantry that expired last april. I'm worried to use that. Any ideas?
