we have a 1 year goal. I think we could live on our stockpile for a good 6 months only needing milk and maybe some fresh veggies (although we do have a garden) I need to beef up my staples again as we are running low (beans, pasta, sugar, canned and frozen veggies and fruits)

Right now it's just DBF and I, we have some stuff that will last us about a year or more with it. But not enough of other things. I really want to have nice stock going for when we start TTC baby #1. I want to have enough stocked up for during the pregnancy so I can spend money on things for the baby like the cloth diapers I want to get. And then I want to be able to live off of the stock for at least a year after the baby arrives so that way I won't have to worry about needing anything. I think it's a pretty good plan and I hope it works out the way I want considering also we need to save some money in the mean time so we can move next year when our lease is up.

Mine is really none of the above....just to have enough to where I don't HAVE to buy something at regular price. For instance I might have a 2-3 bottles of ketchup stockpile. I don't have much room, its just me and my son...and for hubby at his apt. Or if its a super great deal or free...then I'll stock up. Like the other day Cottonelle toilet paper was on sale for $1.oo (4pk). and I had 6 .25 q's (that double)...so I bought 6. So now I don't have to buy for a bit and can wait for another sale.

I havent really made a Goal . But I have enough toothpaste for 2 years, deodorant for girls for 2 +years Boys have 2 years , Shampoo and Conditionder have about 1 year worth, toothbrushes just started on them,

Food wise I just wanted to get ahead so I have without running to the store for stupid stuff but now it has become a * drug* to be bigger and better lol.
So I stocked up on laundry soap but we are using it now so it will last me 1 month ( we have 5 people and LOTS of Laundry) but I am hoping to add as we go .

My only goal is to get what I can now and not have to go without in the winter .
as Hubbys work is way low we HAVE to have a Kitty.

Back in Oct of 2006 we had a HUGE snow storm rip through Amherst Ny, we did not have power for 5 days, and it was well below freezing. I had not started stockpiling anything.. it was bad. Since then, my hubby likes to know we have at lease 4 weeks worth of food and water. (thats easy) I have at least a year worth of HBA, at least 4 years worth of shampoo! I dont have a goal persay.. but its nice to know I pay the price I want to pay, when I want to pay it. If I can get free toilet paper now, why pay 4 bucks for it in a month.

My goal is to have plenty to last us for a year. I am good on HBA, detergents, Electrosol (I bought the hard ones last year figuring they would last longer than gelpacs), papertowels, toliet paper. Today at Publix the penny item was a 4 pack of Publix t paper so of course I got it. I want to stop buying things that I have enough off but for free, moneymaker, or pennies I will get them. I only have me, dh, and Emily (she is 4) and the dog. So I don't need a giant stash of most things. Although I was happy to have it the other day because a co-worker is really struggling due to her ex no paying child support. I wasn't able to give money but I fixed a huge box of food, hba, cleaning stuff for her. She asked if it was from me and I said NO?!?! but I think she knows. She told me that one of her boys was in love with the lucky charms and was so happy to have them that he ate them for breakfast and lunch. My goal is to have enough for me and to share with anyone that needs it.

Has anyone noticed all the people that generally make fun of your stockpile are now a little more interested??

My goal is to stockpile enough this year to live off of $1200 next year. Kind of like Jane4Girls, but with a little more money.
I have to find a way to save on meat though. I already only buy clearanced meat, but I live in an apartment and don't have anywhere to store more than a week's worth. Any ideas?

My sister is this way. However, she "doesn't have time" to actually put effort into it.

My goals are to have a solid year of food items. I was at that point, but have been trying to eat down the stockpile for the past couple of months. Too many items were reaching expiration, and my employer had an issue getting my paychecks to me for about 6 weeks. The stockpile saved us while waiting for payroll to get their act together.

I do have a good 3 year supply of most HBA items though.

Right now we have about 4 months worth of stockpile items. We had more but first DH lost his job & then I lost mine so we had to use up some of what we had. Now that I'm working again, I've started stockpiling again. My goal is at least a year. I think this country is going to heck in a handbasket fast.

My goal is to stockpile as much free stuff as I can. lol You can never have enough. Of course, we have been using some of our stockpile to help other people and to barter and trade with our friends that help us out. Example: We had a friend fix a computer and it took 3 hours, and another one that installed a hot water heater and picked it up for us at the
