I just had a yard sale this weekend. I had two dove trial sizes. I put them in a bag together and priced them at 50 cents. I would price individual trial sizes at 25 cents, or you could bag some together like i did. HTH Good Luck!

I'll be really, really honest here....I don't sell it on Ebay but I donate it for a tax write off. Some think that getting the tax write off is really wrong but I probably donate around $2000-$3000 (retail price) worth of stuff to the shelter so I don't think gtting a $500 write off is 'wrong'

I've never sold my stockpile on ebay. I did however sell at a flea market once. Work was way off and we were short so to the market we went. Between the work we had and the stockpile we made enough to cover everything that week. That was about a year ago and I haven't done that since. I consider my stockpile (hba mostly) money in the bank. We have all we need, I share with my dad and daughter and if I'm in a tight spot money wise, I won't hesitate to head to the flea market again.

FYI don't quote me verbatim on this but I checked into donating and if you donate you can only write off what your actual costs for the items were, not the actual value of the items. You are supposed to save receipts for what you paid for the donated items because if you ever get audited by the IRS you will need them. With that said that's why I don't even bother with a tax receipt when I donate nor do I write it off anymore, it's not worth it to only get a percentage off my taxes as you get with donations and then have to back it up to prove what I paid for the items (which was virtually nothing anyway). So I donate with the knowledge that what comes around goes around and forget Uncle Sam! LOL

Also I sold quite a bit of stockpile at my last yard sale and made over $500!!! I just donated about 200 tubes of K-Y to a no-kill animal rescue. Not sure what she's going to do with it but I know she will never run out... LOL

I was looking into this around tax time..and yes its too much time for me but what i was told was i can donate up to $500worth without a receipt and the rest i have to prove..so im pretty sure thats what she meant

about the topic. I was a powerseller too at one time. coupons/ clothes (omgosh people pay a lot for something i bought for .50at a garagesale) and other items.
when they changed the fees once again early this year i quit, mainly because store listings couldn't be .99cents or less anymore.
I know someone who started ebayin' after she saw me earn some money...but i bought stuff really really cheap and counted the fees so i know i made a profit. She sells stuff out of her house which she paid full price for and sells it on ebay and thinks whatever it sold for thats her profit.
Right now im just a buyer on ebay i don't touch the listing anymore because of the highfees.

My first garage sale this year went great..i was a lil shy about selling household items but the first few people who stopped by bought them all!
i didn't have much out there because i have a emotional bond w/ my stockpile lol but i made like 100bucks on the stuff i got free or made money on :)
Im planning on doin another garage sale next year..one person asked me goin to have another? and i said yes maybe next year and he wanted to know if i would sell the same stuff lol

Thumbs Up Re: 'Fess Up poll: Do you sell your stockpile on Ebay?

I was wondering what price everybody puts on there stockpile stuff when having a yard sale?

I have a little stockpile, but I can get more hba items than anything, if i know I can make a little money (just lost my job!) off them, I dont care to pay the tax on something im gonna make money on!

How much do you charge for tp? hba items? shampoo? wipes? dishwasher soap? etc etc

great thread!

We don't have doubles here so it is a little harder in my area. I try to donate the groceries that I am able to get. We have a very small budget and I feel that it is a great testament to God's provision to be able to share so much food with others.

I tend to keep most of the H&B items for our garage sale. DS and I did one last spring. We didn't have a ton of new times. We also priced them very cheaply $2 for Fusion Razors $.50 for toothpaste. We still made over $200.

We've already have more times then last year so I am excited to see what we will be able to do for the garage sale this coming year.

No.

1. I'm too lazy
2. I enjoy giving it to friends & family
3. I enjoy donating it
4. If I wanted to get rid of something, I'd do it at a yard sale

You can also list them on Amazon. Usually for more.
