I am getting so much free toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, etc..that at this rate I'll die before I can sue it all. I am having a yard sale next month and plan on selling at least 3/4 of my stockpile and then stocking up again for next summer and having another yard sale next year. The toothpaste has expiration dates and at this rate half of them will expire before we can use it.

I don't have anything close to a stockpile yet, but I was wondering what I am going to do with all the stuff I can see myself accumulating (esp from CVS!) LOL! I already have 6 bottles of shampoo and 10 tubes of toothpaste (OK, don't laugh - it DOES feel like a lot for a rookie! :smilenod2:) and it looks like I am getting addicted to buying way more stuff than our family will consume. I can't see myself doing EBay, but how about Craigslist? Has anyone tried that? I have CL'ed a couple of times (furniture and electronics) and at least it does not have the hassle of mailing stuff out as EBay would. Any thoughts?

GREAT idea with using Craigslist!! Has anyone tried that? I just found out that Craigslist is now in my area so I may try it!

I have never sold any of my stockpile on ebay...i think i have an unusual emotional attachment to it

BUT....I once found an old glow worm in my grandparents basement still in the box from 1982. I put it on Ebay hoping to get 5 or 6 dollars. Ended up getting almost 200!!!! For a glow worm!! Then the thought crossed my mind :why would anyone pay 200 for a glow worm...hmmmm:shrug7:

My heavens, $200 for a glowworm!!!! Wow!!

I wouldn't sell on Ebay, although I have in the past. I don't think there is enough safeguards against fraud, both for the buyer and especially the seller. Secondly, the fees are way too high. Thirdly, shipping is way too high. Fourthly, an item has to sell for at least $10 PROFIT for me to consider it worth my time & effort. Most of it is NOT worth my time & effort. Fifthly, they have little to no safeguards against porn in their ads, and I don't approve of that & won't support it.

I guess I'm only going to very specific areas of Ebay, but I've never seen porn in any areas that I go to. Are there certain areas to avoid?

I haven't seen much, almost none, but once in a while I have. I read about it on this blog called "Firemeg". It is by a guy that was a power seller for many years, and he details what is going on with Ebay.

I think it is things like cars, that he said.

I have sold the lightweight stuff like toothbrushes and razors, but as PP said shipping is just way too high. HOWEVER>....I just now finished setting up for my yard sale. Guess what I am selling LOL Haircolor, toothpaste, shampoo, and all the stuff that we all get for better than free. Then when my yard sale is over, I will head for CVS for some better than free colgate. Don't you just love it?
