    Default Storing bagged salad?

How do you store the premade bagged salads. I love having these on hand because they are quick and easy, but I find they go bad too quick. If I don't use the whole bag the day I open it turns all brown. I would love to know if there is a way to store it where they will stay fresh longer. Thanks!

When I buy prebagged salad, I wrap the leftover lettuce in a paper towel and stick it back in the bag, or place the paper towel in the baggie over the lettuce. The towel absorbs the moisture and keeps the lettuce fresher for a few more days. hope this helps!

I put it in a ziplock bag, seal it closed except for 1 inch, squeeze as much air out as I can, then complete the seal.

Also, the cole slaw (cabbage) lasts longer than the lettuce, so I usually buy it.

I have a Tupperware fridgesmart container that I empty the bagged lettuce into. It lasts longer that way for me.

Probably a silly question, but can you freeze it?

no you cant freeze lettuce, it gets a really weird and strange consistancy, you can however dehydrate lettuce

I also store it in a zip bag. I roll the zip bag up like a space saver bag to get the air out.
I have seen good reports on the new green bags - reviews on here say they really work

I freeze my bagged spinach all the time but only when I will cook it. As for the bagged as long as I don't open it, it seems to last way past the exp date.

Once I open it, it needs to be eating within a week or it goes bad.
