I just keep my eyes open for good Qs on those items and watch for a good sale- then decide whether or not the sale is 'stockpile worthy' or not. I'm moving down my list pretty quickly, so it really helps to have a game plan- especially when you're new at all this. Otherwise you end up with 300 shampoo/conditioner, 200 toothpaste.........etc. and no toilet paper or laundry detergent, etc. I also tend to shop in "themes." For the past couple of months, I've found excellent deals on laundry supplies, so that's been my focus. Lots of freebies that I had never noticed before - just took a little planning and staying focused. I did much better this year than last when I was basically a newbie at all this.
So, just make a plan/list and stick to it. Believe me, the deals will cycle through again. It's very, very rarely a once in a lifetime deal.
Hi there I am new to stockpiling but not new to couponing!!!! Just love it!!! Just a quick tip to share....if something is absolutey FREE I get it even if I don't need it....I give those items to needy friends, family or a local food bank...OR something else I LOVEEEEE ....I sell non-perishable toiletries, etc... in my rummage sales.

Hi I'n new to this stockpilling...have couponed on and off for yrs but really didn't know how to work it....I am learning now

got my first haul for $3.36 today and saved $19.41 plus $2.00 ecb

    so that felt good

    but....

are getting things for free wrong? Is it just being greedy? Am I hurting anyone by stockpilling? I intend to only stockpile only reasonable useage amounts....is taking advantage of a "deal" really taking advantage of someone/company?

has anyone else ever felt this way?

Also do a lot of you make mulpitle trips...like walgreens carefree free this week....you can only get one at a time...is it ok to do the same offer over but use the rr for something else?

also...in my area we have large bins for paper recycling which can be found at schools, churches etc. I realized I can find newspapers there very easily...and even found bound up unusde sunday inserts w/coupons...and grabbed some....now some may consider it stealing but I return all the other paper so for me it is borrowing, but I still keep a low profile...they are used for fundraising so I always make sure to put back more to compensate...so if you have similar bins check them out

HAPPY DANCE Do we have any Texas stockpilers here?

If so, I would love to talk to you. I am a couponer, and a stockpiler, but the resale market is DEAD in my area (Bryan/College Station). I have been working with a partner that couldn't hang so now I'm solo and looking for a new stockpile buddy. I was hoping to find someone in the Houston or Austin areas as they are closest to me. PLEASE PM me if this appeals to you

    Thanks so much!

I am from a small town and I usually do my main shopping at Giant... they only allow three coupons of the same thing.. How do I get around that?

I realize this is an old comment, but I couldn't resist. As a single guy myself, I'd be pretty uneasy if I discovered my date had a pantry full of diapers and baby stuff.

The only way around that is multiple transactions. Or if they won't let you just break it up in one trip, make multiple trips or bring friends/family to run other transactions through for you.

I'm SUPER new to couponing and stockpiling. I saw an episode of Extreme Couponing and could not believe what they were saving. I know that's not all of it, and that we can't all save 99% on $600 grocery bills every shopping trip, but I never imagined I could combine coupons and sales to get things free or near free.

Well, I started gathering coupons right away, and have a moderate little coupon supply going now. I was excited for my first 2 stockpiling finds. Not huge hauls, but the first week I got 12 boxes of pasta for less than 50 cents each, and last week I got 14 meal replacement bars for 75% off (which I normally only let my DH get occasionally because of their high price).

I'm looking forward to my next stockpile, and hoping to luck into something I have or can get a bunch of coupons for. Right now I have typically 2 of each coupons. I feel a little better seeing that it can take 6 or more months to start a decent stockpile and that I'm not the only one who has started it one item at a time. Haven't gotten anything totally free yet.

Thanks to everyone for your insights here. It makes all this a little less overwhelming.

Hello there, I am totally new to both.. I am really liking the whole coupon thing.. I was wondering if there is anyone in my area that I would be able to meet up with and go shopping??? Plus I have an idea of what I am doing, but I am still so new that I really don't know what I am doing.. I'm also very excited to pass this on down to my girls and family..

The website is great, I was feeling like a chicken with my head cut off until I read some of the forums on this site.
