Hmm... We use one 50 oz container of Tide every 3.5 weeks (but we have 4 kids who change into clean pjs and clean uniforms every day). So..52 wks a year /3.5 about 15 bottles a year.
I know there is a thread below on detergent but what about He(front load) washers? Ive only had mine a few months and im still adjusting. How many bottles do you think a year supply is, going through 2 capfulls a day via 50 oz bottles( with are 4.99 BOGO right now, and i have $1/1 coupons on purex making them about 1.50 /50 oz)
I am just starting also, so i dont have an established stockpile but a few bottles i bought before i started couponing again.. thanks!

That is about how fast my 50 oz bottles go too. They just don't make it quite a full month.
Sad part is that I am only washing for 1 kid. DH and I have uniforms for work that we change out of and into regular clothes everyday - so I think that part of why I have so much laundry - and the towel usage is ridiculous around here because nobody seems to remember to hang them back up after using!!! (I'm guilty as well of that, so I guess I can't criticize too much.)
I have about 30 bottles, but I wash and wash and wash. I swear the clothes are breading in the hamper. . .

thanks.. i have 3 girls and i swear i dont even know where the laundry is coming from i swear i didnt even buy most of it!!!i got a laundry haul last night, i used all my $1 purex coupons and i found some money making wisk at wally world so i got all i could find coupons for in my binder. (5)

Buy as much as you can afford or have space for because it will stay for a while. I have about 20 boxes of the Purex 3-in-1 sheets for my HE machine plus 4-5 bottles of Tide. We're good for at least 18 months.
I bought 8 bottles of Detergent and 7 bottles of fabric softener back in march and I have only 4 bottles of each left. It is only 3 of us and hubby gets his uniforms washed at work so Im not washing those, but I do wash bedding and rugs every other week. I just buy what I have room for in my pantry. I typically use only Tide and Downy so coming up with those coupons usually isnt hard.

Back when Kmart did actual doubles and not the yucky ones they do now, I stocked up on ALL, I got the small regular bottles free and the giant ones with the push button spout for $5. I had laundry detergent for two years. It was perfectly fine.
Raising children(especially teens) is like being pecked to death by a chicken
In my defense, I will only bid human beings in the auction forum if it's a MM.
I live alone so I don't do laundry as often as most people. Right now I have about 4 bottles of Tide so that will last me about 6 months but I am planning on getting some more since I just ordered some coupons for it.
I have this theory that my kids just take their clean laundry, toss it into the dirty hamper and then wait for me to bring them the clean basket again. The laundry piles never seem to end.
I like paying .99 or less for laundry detergent. It has to be the free of all perfumes, dyes etc sort, but brand doesn't really matter much. SO I probably buy smaller bottles, I go through probably 30-40 a year, plus color safe bleach for 3 of the loads I do every week. It adds up, so I prefer paying less for it :P
